Reinke, Lillian M.
August 30, 1914 - July 5, 2002
JANESVILLE -- Lillian M. Reinke, age 87, formerly of 2232 Hubbard St., died Friday evening, July 5, 2002, at Our House Assisted Living, where she has lived for the last two years. She was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Stetsonville, WI, the daughter of the late E. Richard and Lilly (Brand) Buchholz. On Aug. 22, 1937, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI, she married William A. Reinke, whom she met at the Waverly Beach Ballroom. Lillian and her husband have lived in Janesville for over 60 years. She attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. Lillian graduated from Beloit High School and then went to work for her sister at a laundromat. She was later employed at the former Amplifone Manufacturing Co. in Richmond, WI, retiring in 1976. Her joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William of Janesville; 4 children: Joan Bellrichard, Robert (Nancy) Reinke, Richard (Carolyn) Reinke, and Donald Reinke, all of Janesville; a brother, Richard (Florence) Buchholz of Beloit, WI; 8 grandchildren: Ginger, Richard II, Geoffrey, Carrie, and Robert II Reinke, Gail Brink, Gary Jr. and Wendy Bellrichard; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her sister, Edna Hanson, and a special nephew, Richie Buchholz.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wed., July 10, 2002, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, Janesville, with Rev. Paul Garchow officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL. Lillian's family is being assisted by the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-OVERTON FUNERAL HOME.

Chris and Joan will be remembered by the family for their warmth and
special loving care, and also all her friends at the Jehovah Witness Hall,
especially Odessa (June). Thank you to all the staff at Our House for
giving her the security that she needed for happiness. A special thanks to
those at Our House who loved her, too! May God bless you all!"

Rogers, Harlan B.
January 18, 1923 - July 10, 2002
JANESVILLE -- Harlan B. Rogers, age 79, of 640 Edison Ave., died Wed. morning, July 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born Jan. 18, 1923 in LaVelle Township, Sauk County, WI, the son of Bewford Edgar and Meryl McKinley (Jackson) Rogers. Harlan was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having received the Purple Heart. He married June Grace Rastall Nov. 3, 1951, in Janesville; she died May 18, 1958. Harlan worked at Blackhawk Tech for many years, retiring in 1977. He was a life member of Beloit VFW Post No. 2306 and the Beloit Moose Lodge No. 191.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Kim (Jean) Rogers of Janesville and Roy Rogers of Rockford, IL; 4 grandchildren: Roy, Amanda, Adam & Ross Rogers; a sister, Joyce (Boyd) Severson of Janesville; and a brother, Cleo Rogers of Sturgis, SD. In addition to his parents and wife, Harlan was predeceased by 3 sisters: Rhea Schwartz, Evelyn Jacobs, and Ardis Elaine Rogers, in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Sat., July 13, 2002, at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1810 Kellogg Ave., Janesville, with Pastor Ann Spindt officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church. HANSEN FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, is handling arrangements.

Schartel, Barbara Inez
June 17, 1926 - July 6, 2002
EDGERTON -- Barbara Inez Schartel, age 76, died Sat., July 6, 2002, at home. She was born June 17, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Cloyd and Sophina Jenkins. She married James Schartel of Chicago Aug. 18, 1946, in Winamac, IN. Barbara worked at Walmart in Janesville and the Piggly-Wiggly in Edgerton.
She is survived her husband, James; by a daughter, Bobby Gruss; 4 grandchildren: Alan and Marc Doty, Samantha Moberley, and Robert Betters; and 5 great-grandchildren: Rachel and Robert Pachowicz, Michelle Moberley, Theodore Doty, and Desiree Betters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Terry Doty.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thurs., July 11, 2002, at ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Edgerton, with Pastor Carl Seeger officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:30 until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Urbana, IL.
The family sends a special thank you for all the support we received from Dr. Madan and Pat, Janesville Dialysis Center (Laura), and all Hospice caregivers.

Schiefelbein, Rodney L.
August 26, 1962 - July 25, 2002
JANESVILLE -- Rodney L. Schiefelbein, age 39, of 1402 Johnson St., passed away on Thurs., July 25, 2002. He was born on Aug. 26, 1962 in Janesville, the son of Gearld and Audrey (Mathews) Schiefelbein. He attended Parker High School and married Cindy Morris in Janesville in 1978. He was a self employed handyman specializing in auto repair and electrical. Rodney served in the National Guards for over 10 years, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working on cars and deer hunting.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Mae (Mike) Brophy of Ft. Atkinson; a grandson, Jakob Brophy; his father, Gerald Schiefelbein of Janesville; his sister, Belinda (Richard) Peck of Janesville; his brother, Ronald Schiefelbein of Janesville; his grandmother, Martha Mathews of Janesville; 3 nephews: Ronnie Schiefelbein, Dallas Garza, and Thomas Long, all of Janesville; 2 nieces, Aurora Long and Sylvia Long; 2 special girls, Minuette and Joset, who he raised like his own children; numerous aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., July 29, 2002 at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Dick Inglett officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
"Rodney missed his mother dearly and now he has joined her in heaven.
He will be missed by everyone he touched."

Schneider, Darlene "Dee"
April 4, 1935 - July 3, 2002
JANESVILLE -- Darlene "Dee" Schneider, age 67, of 3428 Edgewood Dr., died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at her home. She was born in Rice Lake, WI, on April 4, 1935, the daughter of Ernest "Fritz" and Cleora "Kelly" (Robarge) Baumberger. Dee graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1953. She married Neal W. Schneider on April 24, 1954, in Rice Lake and had been a Janesville resident since 1956. Dee was instrumental in the operation of Schneider Funeral Home and was active in her church and the Janesville Community. Dee was an avid Wisconsin Badger Basketball Fan, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Woman's Club.
She is survived by her husband, Neal; a daughter, Lori Schneider of Bayfield, WI; 3 sons: William (Barb) Schneider, Daniel Schneider and Joseph Schneider, all of Janesville; 3 grandchildren: Neal J. Schneider and Andrew Schneider, both of Janesville, and Tasha Ginner of Milton; a great-grandson, Nicholas Ginner of Milton; her mother, Kelly Baumberger of Rice Lake; and her sister, Dona (Charles) Miller of Sauk Rapids, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Fritz Baumberger; and a brother, Wally Baumberger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2002, in ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH with Fr. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the YWCA Community Service Center.
Her family was her life and decorating was her passion.
She was a wonderful wife and mother with a heart of gold.

Schuld, Rose E.
May 14, 1910 - July 28, 2002
HARVARD, IL -- Rose E. Schuld, age 92, died at home in Harvard, IL, on Sun., July 28, 2002. Her faith in God had sustained her in a long, courageous battle with leukemia. Rose was born to Charles and Clara Heiden on May 14, 1910, in Lake Geneva, WI. She and Raymond Schuld were married Oct. 10, 1940, and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Harvard, all their married lives. They were parents to Joyce (James) Shorma of Wyndmere, ND; David Schuld of Harvard, IL; Clare (Jerome) Ritter of Minneapolis, MN; Beverly Schuld of Fort Collins, CO; and grandfather to Peter Ritter of Minneapolis, MN. She was an operator for Wisconsin Telephone Company in Lake Geneva, WI, for 25 years. Rose and Raymond ran a dairy farm northwest of Harvard where she also raised poultry and a large garden. She continued to preserve food and raise flowers until her late 80's. Although she had to work hard from her youth, she loved life, her family and friends, her pets, her flowers, and the beauty of nature, and never lost her sense of humor or faith.
Her children; her grandson; her sisters, Alice Heiden and Louise Robinson; in-laws, Erik and Esther Lilja and Eleanor Schuld; many nieces and nephews; and many friends mourn her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, on April 1, 2001; as well as a sister, Lillian Koch; 4 brothers: Charles, Harry, Robert, and Herman; and 2 brothers-in-law, Laverne Schuld and Kenneth Robinson.
The visitation will be on Wed., July 31, 2002, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 504 E. Diggins St., Harvard, IL, from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Robert C. Kinnear will officiate. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, WI. Arrangements were completed by SAUNDERS & McFARLIN FUNERAL HOME, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL, (815) 943-5400.

Seles, Louis Frank
March 23, 1912 - July 8, 2002
EAST TROY, WI -- Louis Frank Seles, age 90, found peace Mon., July 8, 2002, at the home of his nephew, Craig Robertson. He was born March 23, 1912, to parents Michael Seles and Helen Gaulls, in East Chicago, IN. He attended school at Roosevelt High in East Chicago. On Sept. 15, 1954, he married his bride, the late Thelma Robertson, and resided in Indiana. Louis worked as a boiler maker for Sindain-BP Amoco and has been a resident of East Troy for the last 40 years.
Louis is survived by 4 grandchildren: Robert and John Hughes, Tracy Bonnell, and Kimberly Long; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Hughes; his wife, Thelma; his parents; brothers; and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thurs., July 11, 2002, with a visitation from 5 p.m. until the time of service at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, East Troy, with Pastor Phillip Vangen officiating. Inurnment at Hazel Ridge Cemetery in Elkhorn will follow. Memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Little Lambs are appreciated.
