Walter P. Goodman, 84, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation South in the town of Eagle Point, Chippewa County.
He was born on June 30, 1917, in Milwaukee, to Harry and Catherine (Barre) Goodman, the third oldest of nine children. Walter married Virginia E. Redever on February 3, 1963, in Milwaukee. Walter was employed in Milwaukee with the Milwaukee Railroad as Roundhouse repairman.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a brother, Robert Goodman of Fox Lake; a sister, Margaret Goodman (Kiel) of Ft. Atkinson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 9:45 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2001, at Tillinghast Cemetery in the town of Sampson, with Pastor Jon Becker officiating.
Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Darryl Knight
Services for Darryl Wayne Knight were Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Smith's Funeral Home South Chapel in Jackson, Tenn., with cremation following.
Mr. Knight, "Curly," who was 64, died Monday, July 23, 2001, of a heart attack while in Chippewa Falls, Wis., visiting his family.
He was a retired Navy veteran and retired from Lockheed-Martin.
He is survived by Ms. Toni Hager of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Sandra (Bruce) Honadel of Eau Claire, Wis.; a brother, Jerry Knight of Moscow, Tenn.; two sons, Kenneth (Janie) Knight of Lexington, Tenn., and James (Kimberly) of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Debra Knight of Denver, Colo.; three grandsons, Jeremy Hicks, Justin Knight and Michael Knight, all of Lexington, Tenn.; and a great-grandson, Auston Hicks, also of Lexington, Tenn.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ginny; a brother, Dale; and a sister, Shirley.
Evelyn Laursen
Evelyn D. Laursen, 84, of 1625 Fairway Street died Wednesday, August 01, 2001, in Eau Claire.
She was born in Eau Claire on September 15, 1916, the daughter of Ernest and Hilda (Swanson) Myers. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1934. Evelyn married Elmer C. Laursen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on September 24, 1939. She worked as a secretary at Briggs Transportation for many years and was a receptionist for Bertelson Company for over 15 years, until her retirement in 1989.
She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a 50-year member of Eau Claire Chapter No. 126 Order of The Eastern Star.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joyce (James) Clark of Eau Claire and Janet Anderson of Richfield, Minn.; three grandchildren, Michael (Claudia) Clark of Cadott, Carolyn Clark of Shoreview, Minn., and Susan (Mark) Jordan of Parker, Colo.; two great-granddaughters, Caitlin and Megan Jordan; two sisters, Pearl Kohls and Helen (Wayne) Larson, both of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, Ted Laursen of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1976; and two brothers, George and Clarence.
Evelyn adored her great-granddaughters, who were the light of her life.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Richard Owen
ELK MOUND -- Richard A. Owen, 61, of Elk Mound died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at his home in the town of Springbrook, Dunn County, rural Elk Mound.
Richard was the son of Leonard and Ruby (Schumacher) Owen. He was born December 23, 1939, and raised in the town of Springbrook, Dunn County, rural Elk Mound. He served in the U.S. Army, serving mostly in Germany. After the service, he married Shirlee Schrantz May 8, 1965, in Elk Mound. After marriage, they lived in Palmyra, Wisconsin, where he was employed by the Amron Corporation. They later returned to Elk Mound where he remained the rest of his life.
Richard is survived by his wife, Shirlee; one son, Michael (Sue) of Eau Claire; one daughter, Tamara (Dennis) Pahl of Wheeler; six grandchildren; his parents, Leonard and Ruby Owen of Elk Mound; one brother, Dennis (Judy) of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Duane.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elk Mound. Rev. Henry Hoerburger will officiate. Burial will be in Fall City Cemetery, town of Springbrook, Dunn County.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stanton-Goodrich-Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Frank Brandstatter
SHAWANO -- Frank Brandstatter, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay.
He was born March 12, 1920, in New Auburn to Mike and Mary (Leiber) Brandstatter.
Graveside services will be held at Bloomer City Cemetery on Saturday, November 10, 2001, at 1 p.m., with David W. Olson officiating.
There is no visitation.

Joseph Diederich
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. -- Joseph C. Diederich, 70, of Incline Village, Nevada, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2001.
He was born August 1, 1931, to Joseph and Alice (Yost) Diederich in Ladysmith, Wis. He graduated from McDonell Memorial High School, received a B.A. in Economics at Eastern Michigan University, M.A. in Economics at the University of Detroit and a B.A. in architecture at Lawrence Technical University in Southfield, Mich. He grew up in Chippewa Falls and lived in Incline Village for 6½ years, coming from Metropolitan Detroit, after living there for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Diederich of Incline Village, Nev.; children, Sylvus Tarn of Detroit, Karl Diederich of Matagorda, Texas, John Diederich of South Lyon, Mich., Kurt Diederich of Troy, Mich., Keith Diederich of North Carolina and Carol Osterhus of Minnetonka, Minn.; five grandchildren; brothers, Bill Diederich of Incline Village, Nev., Francis Diederich of Wisconsin; and sisters, Mary Alice Lanke and Elizabeth Martineau, both of Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, with Father Norman Boneck officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Bloomer American legion and V.F.W.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2001, at Schriver Funeral Chapel in Bloomer and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the Church. There will be a 7:30 p.m. Christian wake services at the funeral chapel on Friday.

Brock Hoffman
KENOSHA -- Brock R. Hoffman, 15, of Kenosha, died at his home on Tuesday, November 6, 2001.
Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on March 4, 1986, he was the son of Alvin R. Hoffman and Connie R. (Erlandson) Adams.
His childhood was spent in Jacksonville, N.C. He moved to Eau Claire, Wis., in 1994, and has resided in Kenosha since July, 1999.
He was currently a cadet at Kenosha Military Academy.
He was a friend of Harvestime Church in Eau Claire and St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
He enjoyed operating his computer, playing outdoor sports and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Connie R. Adams of Kenosha; his father, Alvin R. (Jennifer) Hoffman of Kenosha; a sister, Samantha R. Hoffman; twin half-brothers, Ryan and Robert Hoffman; his maternal grandparents, Jeanne Erlandson of Eau Claire and Curtis (Joyce) Erlandson of Kenosha; his paternal grandmother, Esther Hoffman of Kenosha; his paternal step-grandmother, Soon Ok Noel of Kenosha; and his paternal great-grandmother, Carmella Cerminara of Kenosha.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Skip Hoffman; and his maternal great-grandparents, Olai H. and Isabel Polden and Thorbold and Esther Erlandson.
A memorial service for Brock R. Hoffman, 15, of Kenosha, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001, at Bruch Funeral Home in Kenosha.
Friends may pay their respects to the family at the visitation from 12 p.m. noon until the time of the service.
