Robert John Cottingham, 59, died Sunday, December 19, 1999, in Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wis.
He was born October 28, 1940, in Racine, Wis., to Pauline (Cipov) and Marvin Cottingham, Sr.
Robert attended high school in Chetek, Wis. He married Marie Klopatek in 1960. They were later divorced. On June 25, 1983, he married Dorothy Smith in Trempealeau, Wis.
Robert worked for American Motors in Kenosha, Wis. and for Fiberite, in Winona, Minn., until his retirement in 1985.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Galesville; four children, Jeanna (Floyd) White, of Onalaska, Wis., Lisa (Michael) Bushman, of Fountain City, Wis., Mary Howe, of Galesville, Wis., and Michael Cottingham, of La Crosse; his mother, Pauline Millner, of Plymouth, Minn., a brother, Marvin (Gloria) Cottingham, Jr., of Kenosha, Wis., and two sisters, Andrea (Ronald) Boggess, of Barron, Wis., and Jean Ann (Bill) Hughes, of North Highland, Calif.; six grandchildren, Kyle and Lee Bushman, Quincy, Nathan, and Halley White, and Liz Howe.
His wish was to be cremated.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 22, at 1 p.m. at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 1001 Quincey Street, Onalaska, Wis.

Muriel A. (Pedersen) Cowan
Muriel A. (Pedersen) Cowan, 76, of Trempealeau, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999 in Marinuka Manor, Galesville, Wis. She was born Sept. 24, 1923 in Avoca, Wis. to Harry and Nona (Jacquish) Davis. Muriel grew up in Beloit, Wis. and married Otto Pedersen April 9, 1944. As a couple they moved to the Onalaska area in 1960. Otto died August 26, 1973. On July 2, 1975 she married Lloyd Cowan and they lived in Trempealeau. Lloyd died Feb. 4, 1998. Muriel had been employed at the La Crosse Hotel for many years as a desk clerk. Survivors are a daughter Muriel Jean ( William) Lawrence of Seattle, Wash; 2 stepsons, Charles (Christine) Cowan of Peoria, Ill., John Cowan of Trempealeau; 6 stepdaughters, Margaret (Richard) Wing and Ellen Pratt both of La Crosse, Catherine Knopf of Milpitas, Calif., Virginia (Peter) Stanislawski of Trempealeau, Vivian (Mort) Simerson of Peoria, Ill., Teresa (Steve) McAllister of Gulf Port, Miss.; 3 grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; 3 grt. grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands she was preceded in death by a total of 9 siblings, a step granddaughter, and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, December 18, 1999 in Zwickey Funeral Homes Galesville Chapel. Rev. Dr. R. Steven Krueger officiated. Burial was in Trempealeau Public Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Marinuka Manor, Galesville.
Nettie L. Coyle
Nettie L. Coyle, age 90, of Trempealeau, died Monday, November 29, 1999 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wis.
She was born September 20, 1909 to William and Lille (Wilson) Snodgrass in rural Westby. Nettie graduated from high school and went on to nursing school at St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, Wis. Later she worked at Kresge Department Store in Winona for many years. Nettie married Howard Coyle on December 27, 1940 in the Little Brown Church in Iowa.
Nettie was very active in the United Methodist Church in Trempealeau.
She is survived by a daughter Karen (Ray) Simpson of Longmont, Co.; 5 grandchildren, Terri Janson, Debra (Stacy) Sammons, Jason (Stephanie) Canar, Justin (Mariann) Coyle, and Stephanie Coyle; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, a son William and 3 brothers.
A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at United Methodist Church in Trempealeau. Rev. Betsy Miller Ruben will officiate. It was Nettie's wish to be cremated. Memorials to Tremp-ealeau United Methodist Church or the Trempealeau Youth Sports League.

Bessie M. Dick
Bessie M. Dick, 84, of Galesville, died March 1, 2000 in Marinuka Manor, Galesville, Wis.
She was born Feb. 1, 1916 in Farmington Township, La Crosse Co., Wis. to John and Clara (Hobbs) Paisley. She graduated from Mindoro High School in 1934 and had attended Teachers College in Galesville prior to marrying Wilbur Dick on Nov. 2, 1935 in Galesville. As a couple they farmed in the Silver Creek area until 1950. Bessie then went to work for Metallics on Brice Prairie until her retirement. In 1994 she entered the nursing home.
Bessie loved music, dancing, travel and eating out at various area restaurants. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Galesville.
Survivors are a brother, Jack (Leona) Paisley of Mindoro, Wis; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Paisley and Evelyn Paisley, both of Mindoro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur and 2 brothers, Budd and David.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, 2000 in First Presbyterian Church, Galesville, with Rev. Dr. R. Steven Krueger officiating. Burial was in Decorah Prairie Cemetery, rural Galesville.

Elsie F. Docken
Elsie F. Docken, 74, of Galesville, died Saturday, January 16, 1999 in Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. She was born July 12, 1924 in Durand, Wis. to Ernest and Elsie (Persons) Finch. On April 19, 1946 she married Robert G. Docken in Davenport, Iowa. He died July 17, 1989. Elsie had been a postal employee for 35 years in the U.S. Postal Service prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Rowles-McBride American Legion Auxiliary of Galesville, a past Trempealeau County Fair Superintendent, Order of the Easter Star #249 of Onalaska having been a past worthy matron, a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Galesville and the Presbyterian Women where she had been an officer, a volunteer at Trempealeau Elementary School and a past leader of 4-H, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Survivors are a son, William (Susan) of Waukesha, Wis; 2 daughters, Robyn Docken and her friend Kenneth Gunderson of Galesville, Lynita (Mark) Delaney of Trempealeau; 6 grandchildren, Heather Docken, Laura Delaney, Brian Rody, Jeremy Docken, Cameron Delaney, Stacy Ellis; 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kevin; 3 sisters, Juanita Ward and Elrean Wald, both of Galesville, Eva (Edward) Lawrence of North Kingstown, R.I.; and 2 brothers, E. Lynn Finch, formerly of Ettrick, Wis. and now Michigan, Donald L. Finch of Galesville.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 20, 1999, 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville. Rev. Dr. R. Steven Krueger officiated. Spring burial will be in Decorah Prairie Cemetery, rural Galesville.
Linda Rae Eichman
Linda Rae Eichman, age 46, of Eden Prairie, Minn., formerly of Trempealeau and Arcadia, Wis. died on Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at St. Louis Park, Minn.
She was born November 15, 1952 in Anchorage, Alaska.
She was employed as a Corporate Items Administrator with Northern States Power Company. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Church Choirs.
She is survived by her husband Barry; sons Nathan and Nicholas; her mother and father Frances and Harold Stevens, Arcadia, Wis; a brother Greg; a sister Brenda Olson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Harry Eichman of Trempealeau; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, July 12, 1999, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie. Private family interment.

Paul Eickman
Paul Eickman, 85, of Moses Lake, Wash. died December 30, 1999.
He was born March 17, 1914 in Trempealeau County to Paul and Martha (Kulas) Eichman. He married Olive Oetken on June 17, 1943.
Paul is survived by his wife Olive; four sons, Dick (Lynda), Bob, Tim (Peggy), and Jim (Diane); two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Hanson, and Jeanie Eickman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Genevieve) Eichman and Robert (Grace) Eickman; four sisters, Blanche Kulas and Doris Kujak, both of Tremp-ealeau, Leona Chernetski of Menominee, Mich., and Anna (Roman) Kujak of Fountain City, Wis.; and two sisters-in-law Marie Eichman of Trempealeau, and Lucille Eickman of Menominee, Mich.; many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service was held Monday, January 3, 2000 in Moses Lake, Wash.
Grant his eternal rest, as he has now completed his journey of life back to God!
