Delphine Hurt
BLOOMER -- Delphine E. Hurt, 80, of Bloomer passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
She was born November 30, 1920, to Ben and Rose (Lange) Spath in Edson, Wisconsin. She married Walter A. Hurt on September 8, 1936, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She and her husband were owners and operators of Hurt's Garage and Gas in Bloomer
She is survived by four sons, Jerome (Theresa) Hurt of Bloomer, James (Rita) Hurt of Bloomer, Walter Hurt of Bloomer and John (Ramona) Hurt of New Auburn; four daughters, Marian (Harold) Hunt of Chippewa Falls, Sylvia (Joe) Jennings of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Theresa (Dan) Duval of Bloomer and Valeria (Greg) Seidling of Bloomer; sisters-in-law, Clara Hurt, Pearl Spaeth, Catherine Spath and Ann Spath; 43 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Norman (Geneva) Spath of Chippewa Falls.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son in infancy, Gerald Hurt; one grandson, Herb Hunt; one granddaughter, Valerie Hurt; brothers, Fred, Peter, Albert, Andrew, Frank, Joseph, George and Adam Spath; and sisters, Susan Cooney, Ann Marion and Helen Goettl.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, with Father Norman Boneck officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's North Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday at Schriver Funeral Chapel in Bloomer.

Audrey Rohrer
Audrey K. Rohrer, 80, of Eau Claire, formerly of Cochrane and Alma, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 8, 1921, in Arpin, Wisconsin, the daughter of A.H. and Alice (Ulberg) Gluesing. Audrey was a graduate of Alma High School class of 1938. She had worked as a legal secretary for Gleeson Law Office in Alma prior to marrying her husband, Milton H. Rohrer April 7, 1941, in Decorah, Iowa. Audrey and Milton had lived in Cochrane and Alma prior to moving to Eau Claire twelve years ago, after selling the family business, A.H. Rohrer Chevrolet and Buick Car Dealership in Cochrane. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Alma and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #224.
She is survived by her husband, Milton of Eau Claire; one daughter, Janet A. Rohrer of Winona, Minn.; one son, Thomas H. (Susann) of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Nathan H. and Benjamin H. Rohrer; special family friend, Jerry Drussell of Winona; and her special dog, Mitzie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Galen Gluesing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001, at Stohr-Hagen-Wozney Funeral Home in Alma. Rev. Joel Bacon will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to service time on Saturday.

Edna Salmon
COLFAX -- Edna M. Salmon, 87, of Colfax, formerly of Menomonie.
Edna was born September 24, 1914, and she died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at Area Nursing Home in Colfax, where she had been a resident for the past year.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Kenneth) Garske of Menomonie; five grandchildren, Mona (Scott) Miller of Alcorn, Lawrence Garske of Fredric, Dolly (Robert) Lee of Wheeler, Heidi (David) Kile of Virginia Beach, Va., and Heather (Chris) Ferris of Menomonie; 11 great-grandchildren, Alex, Zach and Kenna Miller, Breandon, Jacob and Donald Garske, Brady and Andrew Lee, Christopher and Megan Kile and Logan Ferris; one sister, Edith Martell of Stillwater, Minn.; two brothers, Resser Adams of St. Croix Falls and Russell Adams of Balsam Lake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Laura (Russell) Adams; her husband, James in 1978; and a great-grandson, Kenneth William Garske.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Lyle Schulte officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stanton-Goodrich-Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie, where there will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. on Friday.

John Gard
MERRILLAN -- John S. Gard, 83, formerly of Merrillan, died June 23rd at Grand Island Veteran's Home in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was born in Mt. Polaski, Ill., on March 2, 1917, to parents Thomas and Vida Mae Musgrove Gard. He was raised in Decatur, Ill., and moved to Wisconsin in 1929. He married Geraldine (Jo) Troxel on July 18, 1938, in Black River Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and saw action in France, the Ardennes, and Rhineland before being honorably discharged in November 1945. John and Jo settled in Merrillan, where they raised five children.
John drove truck for Janesville Auto Transport for twenty years, retiring in 1972. He moved to Oregon and worked for the Oregon State Highway Department. After the death of his wife in 1989, he returned to Merrillan for several years then moved to Ord, Nebraska, in 1992, where he resided until 1999.
A talented musician, John played guitar and sang in the band he formed called "Johnny and the Lamplighters." He was a life-member of the Alma Center VFW and a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association. He enjoyed fishing and was a formidable cribbage player.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Upah of Ord, Neb.; three sons, John S. Jr. and Dean, both of Boise, Idaho, and Dan of Missoula, Mont.; a brother, Robert Gard of Beloit; a sister, Gail McCullough of Janesville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Besides his wife; a son, Thomas, and sister, Virginia, preceded him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12, at East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center. Memorials may be given to the Alma Center VFW or the American Cancer Society.

Madeline Golden
Madeline D. Golden, 86, formerly of 1704 S. 8th St., Eau Claire, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at Dove Health Care.
She was born in the Town of Clinton, Vernon County, November 17, 1913, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha (Appleman) Wemmer. Madeline married Arthur N. Golden on August 4, 1934, in Eau Claire. He preceded her in death March 22, 1972. Madeline greatly enjoyed going to thrift shops and thrift sales.
Survivors include her daughter, Arlene (Weston) Nelson; her son, Art (Karen) Golden, all of Eau Claire; a sister, Mary Wemmer of Woodland Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Ted, Darrell, George and Richard, and a sister, Dorothy Golden, who died July 30, 1997.
Graveside Services will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Town of Washington, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
Friends and relatives may call Saturday after 9 a.m. at Stokes & Mundt Funeral Chapel in Eau Claire.

Marie Monpas
Marie J. Monpas, 90, formerly of 718 Maple St., Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, August 10, 2000, at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls.
She was born March 29, 1910, in Dane County to Altha (Best) and Frank Faulkes. She grew up in the town of Anson and Chippewa Falls.
Marie married Gilbert C. Monpas Sr. on November 18, 1926, in St. Paul, Minnesota. They owned and operated grocery stores in Old Anson and New Anson during the 1930s. She also had been employed at Mason Shoe Company for 19 years, retiring in 1971. She had been a resident of Chippewa Manor Nursing Home since 1997.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.
Survivors include two sons, Merton (Donna) Monpas and Gilbert C. Monpas Jr., all of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Mildred Brauck and Frances Jobe, both of Eau Claire; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert C. Monpas Sr. on May 13, 1989, her parents and one sister, Lucille Nabbefeld.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 13, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Richard Estrem-Fuller and the Rev. Fr. Robert B. Hoekstra of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel and a half hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.

Beatrice Schlosser
MENOMONIE -- Beatrice H. Schlosser, age 79, of Eau Galle, died August 9, 2000, at Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health Systems, Menomonie.
Beatrice was born March 14, 1921, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Yarrington) Sweeney. She was born and raised in the Spring Creek area of rural Durand. She married Paul Schlosser in 1938. After marriage they lived and farmed in the Town of Waubeek, Pepin County, rural Durand. They later divorced. She has resided in the Town of Waubeek the rest of her life. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Durand.

Beatrice is survived by two daughters, Joan (Leigh) Wittig of Alma, Janis (Bruce) Glaus of Caledonia: two sons, Kenneth (Barbara) of Mequon, Gordon (Peggy) of Durand; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Marian Halverson of Winneconne and Lucille Ginochio of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2000, at the Rhiel Funeral Home, Durand. Pastor Steve Cole will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Durand.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
