Grace B. Green, age 86, moved to Heaven on Thursday July 23, 2009 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born February 1, 1923 to the late George and Mildred (Noble) Gilbert. Grace served in the U.S. Army during WW II until her honorable discharge. She married Charles Edwin Green on February 1, 1950 at Our Saviors Church in Beloit. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1993.
She is survived by her three daughters, Evelyn Collins of Janesville, Sara (Tom) Olson of South Beloit and Ruth (Bob) Uckert of Orfordville; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her sister Catherine Schultz of Beloit.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles.
A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
Lucile Rook
Beloit
Lucile Rook, 89, of 1245 Ritsher Street, Beloit died Saturday November 8, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. Lucile was born January 13, 1919 to the late Cecil Hazel (Jones) Colby in Broadhead, WI. She married Herbert Rook on January 21, 1937 in Belvidere, IL. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Rose Herbst and Phyllis (George) Anderson of Beloit; Richard (Angie Lamphear) Rook of South Beloit, Karen Brown (Calvin) of Tomahawk, WI, John (Starr) Rook and Sally (Scott) Weeks of Beloit; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by a sister in law Margaret Colby; Aunt Mary Schuckhart and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Buster Colby & Bud Colby and a sister, Mardell Dooley, five children, five grandchildren and a son in law, Floyd Herbst
Lucile’s Funeral Service will be 6:00 p.m. on Thursday November 13, 2008 in the SCHOENFELD-MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Rev. Josh Brumbaugh officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday in the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Marian T. Matz

Marian T. Matz, age 82, died Tuesday November 11, 2008 at Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Beloit. Marian was born March 8, 1926 to the late Paul and Thelma Louise (Grimshaw) Young in Green Bay, WI. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School the class of 1945. Marian married Norman W. Matz on June 30, 1947 at the J. C. Barlow Home in Beloit. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1990. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active with the Church Choir, the Mary Martha Guild and the Worldwide Relief Quilters.
She is survived by her two sons William (Julie) Matz of Beloit, and Kenneth (Shirley) Matz of Beloit; her two daughters, Anna (Thomas) Larsen of Beloit and Laura (Terry) Bredeson of Beloit; eight grandchildren, Paula Matz, Nathan Matz, Eric Matz, Brian Larsen, Brad (Mandy) Larsen, Michael Bredeson, Fredrick Bredeson, and Randy Bredeson; and six great grandchildren, Jordan, Aneica, Drekko, Furious, Ben and Jared.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Marian’s Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 14, 2008 at the SCHOENFELD – MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit WI with Pastor George Raap officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran School. The cortege will process to Floral Lawns Memorial Garden for interment.

Nancy C. Martin, age 74, of Beloit died Tuesday November 18, 2008 at home. Nancy was born March 5, 1934 to the late George and Gertrude (Gildemaster) Thorpe in Elroy, WI. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1952. Nancy married Lyle E. Martin on December 6, 1952 in Beloit. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was an avid gardener and cultivated a flourishing red raspberry business over the years. Nancy worked at ShopKo from 1981 until her retirement in 1998. She loved her family, especially her four great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Michelle) Martin of Beloit; Jim (Monica) Martin of Beloit; her daughter, Jill Martin (Tim Bruschi) of Beloit; four grandchildren, Shelby (Jeremy) Parr, Jessica Miller, Jennifer Martin and Josie (Kai) Miller; four great grandchildren, McKenna, Vanessa, Veronica and Ash; a step brother, Randy (Debbie) Bennett and several nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Lyle.

Larry Fleck, age 59 of Beloit died Monday November 24, 2008 at home after a long illness. Lawrence was born May 24, 1949 in Beloit to the late Fred and Irene (Cannon) Fleck. Lawrence grew up in Beloit and attended Beloit Catholic High School graduating in 1967. He worked in construction enjoying carpentry, roofing and any hands on work. He liked to play pool and ride Harley-Davidson Bikes.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry (fiancé, Rick Pitt) Fleck of Florida, two brothers and five sisters, Doris Saladino, Martha (Les) Schroeder, Randi Fleck, Pat (Larry) Hanson, Peggy Fleck, Fred (Cindy) Fleck, Mary (Dennis) Lasher, James (Mary) Fleck and Carrie Morelock and many nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jeffrey, two brothers Leo and William, a sister, Mary Jo, and his nephew, Thomas Saladino.

William Otto Kopplin

William O. Kopplin, 88, of Beloit, WI, died in Beloit Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 1, 2008.
Bill was born on June 11, 1920, in Beloit, the son of Otto and Wilhemina “Minnie” (Fairbert) Kopplin. He married Bertha Cleaveland on October 29, 1966 in Rockford, IL. Bill was employed by Beloit Corporation as an Iron Worker retiring in 1982 after almost 40 years. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of Beloit and a member of Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club. Bill enjoyed the out of doors with his hobbies of hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed bowling, having coffee with his friends, birthday club and was always helping people with their lawns and snowblowing.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bertha, his son, Roger (Linda) Kopplin and a daughter, Donna (Ray) Van Cleve both of Janesville; two step daughters, Beverly Jones-Woodstock of Janesville and Donna (Steve) Appleman of Green Bay, WI; six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren; brother, Fred (Della) Kopplin of Beloit and a sister, Mary Freers of Muscatine, IA and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Bill was preceeded in death by his parents, brother in law, Charles Freers and an aunt, Emma Fairbert.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday December 4, 2008 in the SCHOENFELD-MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, with the Reverend William W. Wagner officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, in the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday.
The Cortege will process to Plymouth Church Cemetery following the service.
Charlotte Mae Halverson

Charlotte M. Halverson, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Beloit Health and Rehabilitation Center, Beloit.
She was born May 7, 1922, in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Shaw. Charlotte was a member of Cornerstone Church of God and the Silly Dilly’s Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling, cake decorating and her collection of angels.
Survivors include her daughter, Geraldine Staver of Beloit, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous great great grand children; a sister, Shirley Clark of South Beloit, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Janice Helser; a son Herbert Helser; two sisters, Betty and Abby and a brother, Willis; two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Charlotte’s Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 6, 2008 in the Cornerstone Church of God, 322 Olympian Blvd. Beloit, with Pastor David Metzger officiating. A memorial fund has been established in Charlotte’s name to the Greater Beloit Regional Hospice.
