Joey A. Wehrwein

Rural Clinton, WI - Joey A. Wehrwein, age 48, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, with his wife by his side. He was born March 19, 1961 to Carl and Helen (Heitsman) Wehrwein in Janesville. Joey married Rebecca Seefeldt on July 19, 1986 in the First Baptist Church of Clinton. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1979 while lettering in Baseball. Joey worked at SPX Processing Equipment in Delavan for the last 30 years. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, fishing and hunting. Joey loved “The Farm” and time spent cultivating the land and the work involved in crop farming. No job was ever too hard for him. He was well known at Boxcars for his Thursday Night poker abilities and his availability and willingness to help anyone in need. Most of all he adored his wife, Becky, his children and new baby granddaughter, Alexis. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Wehrwein; his son Ryan Wehrwein; his daughter, Ashley Wehrwein and her daughter, Alexis, all of Clinton; two brothers, Wayne (Shelia) Wehrwein & Dan Wehrwein; a sister, Michelle (Matthew) Muth and his mother, Helen Wehrwein all of Janesville; his father, Carl Wehrwein, Janesville & father in law, Richard Seefeldt of Sharon; two best friends, Ben Hutchinson and Tim Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother in law, Mildred Seefeldt.

Joey’s Funeral Service will be Noon on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH of CLINTON, 309 Allen Street with Rev. Matt Graf officiating. Friends will be received on Monday at the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 504 Milwaukee Road, Clinton from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service the cortege will process to Clinton Cemetery for committal prays and interment. All are welcome to gather at Church for luncheon and fellowship following the burial. A memorial is being established in Joey’s name.

Thomas R. M. Blizard

Beloit - Thomas R. M. Blizard, 56, of rural Beloit, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 1, 2009 in his home. He was born November 9, 1952, the son of Beryl and Lena Lombardo Blizard. He was a 1970 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School. Tom married Margo Munoz Moreno in December 1986 in Beloit, WI. He was a field erector for Beloit Corporation. Tom enjoyed woodworking, fishing, motorcycles and playing pool.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Bridget Blizard of Waukesha, WI; three sisters, Mary Ann (Richard) Dombro of Sarasota, FL, Betty (John) Brady of Sarasota, FL and Barb (Joe) Zickert of Bradenton, FL; several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tom’s funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Gene VanGalder officiating. Friends may greet the family Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home.Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Kathleen J. “Katie” Kamholz

South Beloit, IL - Kathleen J. “Katie” Kamholz, 72, of South Beloit, IL, died Sunday, September 20, 2009, in Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, IL. surrounded by her family. She was born February 20, 1937 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Gerald and Martha Busker Haase. Katie was a 1955 graduate of South Beloit High School. In her early years, she was employed by the United Way as a bookkeeper. She married Dwane Kamholz on May 24, 1958. Katie was a member of the “Golden Girls” card club.

Katie is survived by four children, Brian (Darren Wallace) Kamholz of Rockford, IL, Brenda (Shelby Palmer) Kamholz of Loves Park, IL, Barb Kamholz of South Beloit, IL and Brad (Cara) Kamholz of Rockton, IL; seven grandchildren, Tanner, Teagan and Tayton Kamholz, Karlee and Kaleb Tabbert, William and Ethan Palmer; a brother, Jess (Mary) Haase of Janesville, WI; former husband, Dwane; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Myrtle Edwards and Barbara Haase.

A Celebration of Katie’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, in the Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Douglas Gray of Second Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Friends may greet the family on Monday, September 28, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Remo G. Baroni

South Beloit, IL - Remo G. Baroni, age 83, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Alden Meadow Park in Clinton under the care of Beloit Regional Hospice. Remo was born August 16, 1926 to the late John and Maria (Buti) Baroni in Italy. He married the former Corinne Gannon in May of 1952 in Chicago. She preceded him in death in 1987. Remo enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served his Country until his honorable discharge. He worked as a sheet metal layout worker for many years in Franklin Park, IL until his retirement in 1991. Remo enjoyed gardening, planting bushes and trees and generally working outside. He adored his wife and children and always put his family first. His grandchildren were everything to him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his three sons, John (Heather) Baroni of Nashville, TN and their daughter, Corinne, Michael (Barbara) Baroni of Decatur, IL and Daniel (Elizabeth) Baroni and their four children, Bridget, Frank, Cally & Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Corinne.

Remo’s Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 3100 Thatcher Ave, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.

Marian Vivian Howell Voigts

Columbia, TN - formerly of Beloit, WI - Marian Vivian Howell Voigts, 99, of Spring Hill, TN, died Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Life Care Center of Columbia, TN. She was born January 20, 1910 to the late James and Lillian Howell in Harvard, IL. She married Howard W. Voigts on August 1, 1932 in Rockford, Il. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1988. She resided in Beloit for most of her life until relocating with her son and daughter-in-law to Missouri, Texas and then to Tennessee. She worked as a telephone operator for many years and then in the Badger Bowl and Imperial Lanes with her husband (Howard) until retirement. She enjoyed bowling, card playing and then bingo until she was in her 90’s.

Marian is survived by her son William (Gaye Ann) Voigts of Tomahawk WI, two grandsons, Robert (Deborah) of Wind Lake WI & Brian of Hannibal MO, two great grandchildren, Megan & Brittany, Sister-in-law (Juanita) and several nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers (George & Merle Howell) and one sister (Irene Schott), her husband Howard and brother-in-law, Gayle Voigts.

A Celebration of Marian’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2009, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Stanley C. Curtis of the River of Life United Methodist Church officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time service. The cortege will process to Eastlawn Cemetery for interment.

Phyllis L. Crandall

South Beloit, IL - Phyllis L. Crandall, 84 years young, OF South Beloit, IL, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at UW Hospital Madison. She was born August 16, 1926 to the late Ora and Ruby (Bradley) Couture in Detroit, MI. Phyllis married Lewis Henry Crandall Jr. on July 27, 1946.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Lewis Crandall; her children, Richard, Gerald and Judy, beloved grandchildren, Tasha, Gregory and Breezy; sisters, Joanne, Beverly, Karen, Pat, CeCe and a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Doc, daughter, Jacqueline, and sisters, Do Do and Donna.

Over the years, in addition to full time mother and caretaker to the worlds sick, homeless and hungry, she worked for Western Union, Calvary Lutheran Church, Yates American, Warner Electric, Public Defenders and volunteered for Hospice.

Phyllis sang in night clubs and later with the Sweet Adeline’s was a member of Grinnel Hall and a cherished dancer with the Marx Dance Academy where she became everyone’s Grandma. She enriched the lives of everyone privileged to know this fun loving vivacious woman.

Friends and family are encouraged to use the occasion of her passing to join together at the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI on Monday, September 14th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. to remember and celebrate Phyllis’s life with Reverend David Meding of Christian Central Church officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will be served in the Reflections Room in the funeral home immediately following the service. A memorial is being established in her name.
