Rosalia C. 'Sally' Krieser
Rosalia C. "Sally" Krieser, 91, formerly of 285 18th St., died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Nov. 12, 1908, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Michael and Katherine Herrig Steffen. On Sept. 3, 1928, she married Roy H. Krieser at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1996. Mrs. Krieser was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church and its Altar Society, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was employed at Infants Socks for 15 years. She also participated in the Foster Grandparent program. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Lemke, Betty Ann Kaiser, and Gloria Gralapp, all of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Debbie Schroeder and her husband Larry of Walworth, Pam Gannon and her husband Patrick of North Fond du Lac, David Gralapp and his wife Linda of Rothschild, and Lori Lynn Traylor and her husband Terry of Conroy, Texas; eight grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Caroline Klotz; and two sister-in-laws, Elnore Steffen and Mable Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons-in-law, Donald Lemke and Richard Gralapp; three brothers, Harvey, Raymond and Christian (Benno); one grandson; and one great-great-grandson. Services: Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family - St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. The Rev. Dennis Budka will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Lucille M. Smith
Lucille M. Smith, 61, of 1004 Breckenridge St. No. 104, Mayville, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at her home. She was born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Menomonee Falls, a daughter of Paul and Edna (Knop) Lenser. Survivors include three children, Marie (George) Czerwinski of Brookfield, William (Tammy) Smith of Ocala, Fla., and Gordon Smith and his fiancee Connie Pederson of Germantown; four grandchildren; a sister, Millie (Paul) Bettley of Bruce; two brothers, Kenneth (Loretta) Lenser of Waukesha and Melvin (Alice) Lenser of Menomonee Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Everett. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Roy McKain will officiate. Burial will be at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation: From 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Koepsell Funeral Home of Mayville is serving the family.

Clarence Radtke
Clarence "C.W." Radtke, 86, of Oak Creek, formerly of Appleton, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (nee Hamilton); his children, Jeanne A. Kelly and Claire W. (James R.) Lemke; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl J. (Rowena) Radtke; and other family and friends. Services: Private services will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. Visitation: From 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Molthen-Bell & Sons Funeral Home, 700 Milwaukee Avenue, South Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name.

Mary Julia Boeck
Mary Julia Boeck, 82, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Dec. 28, 1917 in Ashford, a daughter of Henry and Wilmina (Jung) Guggisberg. In 1942, she married Walter Bruessel. The couple lived in West Bend until he died in 1966. On May 23, 1975, she married Norbert Boeck at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. He died in 1993. She attended school in Fond du Lac County, and was employed at Regal Ware in Kewaskum until retirement in 1966. Mrs. Boeck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its quilters group. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Crawford of Palm Springs, Calif.; a niece, Pamela Jean Mull of Lincolnton, N.C.; a nephew, Gregory Guggisberg of Lincolnton; cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by both husbands; and a brother, Henry. Services: Funeral Services will be held at noon Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Interment icon will be at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in the Town of Wayne. Visitation: From 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the church. Donald F. Brennand
Donald F. Brennand, 82, of N8305 Cottage Drive, Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born May 4, 1918, in Bancroft, a son of Floyd and Maude Chase Brennand. On June 15, 1940, he married Jeanette Ebling at St. Mary Church, Fond du Lac. Don in his early years worked at Rueping Leather Company, and was later employed by the Soo Line Railroad as a conductor for 35 years, retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, going up to his cabin and visiting with his many friends. He was a member of Bohlman-Grimes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1904, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 and the United Transportation Union. Survivors include his three children, Dianne Lyons and special friend Bill Meyer of the Town of Friendship, Michael Brennand and his wife, Patricia of North Fond du Lac and Daniel Brennand and his wife, Judith of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Laurie Lyons and special friend Tim McFadden of Clam Lake, Robert Lyons and his wife, Kris of Mellen, Lisa Gyr and her husband Randall of Van Dyne, Michelle Russart and her husband Leonard of Fond du Lac, Julie Koch and her husband Ken of Wausau, Annette Orvald and her husband Wayne of Fond du Lac and Patricia Brennand of Fond du Lac; eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Amanda and Morgan Gyr, Kaitlyn Russart, Cassandra and Zachary Koch, Alexis Orvald and Cody Lyons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife on May 15, 2000. Services: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, with the Rev. John O'Brien officiating. Burial will be at Estabrooks Cemetery. Members of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 Firing Squad will conduct graveside military rites. Ann R. Washnieski
Ann R. Washnieski, 84, of 101 Western Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born April 11, 1916, in Hannibal, Mo., a daughter of George and Mary Drinko Kisley. Mrs. Washnieski was a former member of St. Florian Catholic Church in Ino, Wis. She moved to Fond du Lac in 1965, and was formerly employed by Standard Components of Oshkosh, and Combined Insurance of Fond du Lac. Survivors include twin daughters, Patricia Thornburg of Fond du Lac and Theresa Hanson of Fond du Lac; one son, Robert (Norita) Washnieski of Pine River; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mary Boris Nelson and Helen Kisley; and one brother, John Kisley. Services: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Florian Catholic Church, Ino. The Rev. Gabe will officiate and burial will be at Ino Cemetery, Ino. Visitation: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schafer Funeral Home, 220 Third Ave. East, Ashland. A parish rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Judy L. Wiese
Judy L. Wiese, 56, of 653 W. Arndt St., died Monday, July 31, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1943, in Oakfield, a daughter of Carl and Norma Wiese. She was raised by her grandparents, and after their deaths, her sister-in-law, Elaine Wiese, raised her. Judy lived most of her life in Oakfield and moved to Fond du Lac in 1991. She was a certified baby-sitter in Fond du Lac. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, card playing, sewing, crocheting and crafts. Survivors include one son, David (fiance Melanie Otte) Wiese of Fond du Lac; two granddaughters, Melissa Oestreich of Waupun and Alyssa Pinno of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Elaine Wiese of Oak Center; a godson, Lloyd Wiese of Fond du Lac; and three nieces, Karen (Allen) Rebedew of Oak Center, Bonnie (John) Dowidat of Oakfield and Shirley (John) Treptow of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one sister and one brother. Services: A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will be at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wayne D. Pobanz
Wayne D. Pobanz, 62, of Milwaukee, died Wednesday morning at St. Mary Hospice, Milwaukee. He was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Waupun, the son of Arnold and Marjorie Carpenter Pobanz. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy and in 1970 married Lei Lani Burrows and the couple have lived in the Milwaukee area ever since. He was employed with Miller Brewing Co. as a security officer for many years. Wayne is survived by his wife of Milwaukee; one son, Keith (Carrie) Pobanz of Brandon; four grandchildren, Hailey Pobanz, Dylan Pobanz, Genna Pobanz and Shelby Gantner; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Burrows of New Berlin; and his faithful companion, "Bailey." He was preceded in death by his parents. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. The Rev. Doris Hanson will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison. Visitation: Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of the services. Elaine M. Pagel
Elaine M. Pagel, 69, of W1095 Highway B, Town of Osceola, Campbellsport, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Frank and Mae Rosenthal Blackmore. On April 23, 1955, she married Victor W. Pagel at Our Lady of Angels Church in Armstrong. Mrs. Pagel was a member of Our Lady of Angels Church in Armstrong and the Altar Society. Elaine was a graduate of Campbellsport High School and had attended Marian College. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Fond du Lac Abstract. Mrs. Pagel was currently an owner and operator of Pagel Mink Farm with her husband, Victor, and son, John. Survivors include her husband; two sons, John W. (Carole) Pagel of Campbellsport and Joseph C. (Cathy) Pagel of St. Cloud; two daughters, Lynn (Stephen) Ditter of Fond du Lac and Maureen "Bear" (Allen) Freund of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Julie and Thomas Ditter of Fond du Lac, Sara, Mark and Lindsey Freund of Fond du Lac, and Cassie and J.J. Pagel of St. Cloud; four step-grandchildren, Lori (Gary) Lloyd of Fond du Lac, Sue (Tim) Hanlon of Fond du Lac, Jeff Boda of Chicago, Ill. and Terry Boda of Houston, Texas; an aunt, Bernice Blackmore of Fond du Lac; and three cousins, James (Penny) Blackmore of Oshkosh, Richard (Diane) Blackmore of Eden and Sharon (Kenneth) Vokril of Rothschild. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Francis. Services: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Angels Church, Armstrong. The Rev. Charles Loehr will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation: Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. Thursday until the time of the services. A memorial has been established. Frances J. Konen
Frances Jean "Fran" Konen, 86, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born July 1, 1914, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Julius and Marian Meyer Ludkey. On Aug. 7, 1935, she married Lee N. Konen of Fond du Lac. Lee and Fran resided in Evanston, Ill. for most of their married lives and moved to Phoenix in their retirement years. Survivors include two sons, James Konen of Phoenix and John (Cookie) Konen of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Suzanne (Russ) Butler and James Konen, both of Phoenix, Kimberly (Steve) Rastrelli, Brian (Angie) Douglas, Steve Douglas and Katie Douglas all of Indianapolis, Ind.; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Eugene Noe; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Steffen of Ottumwa, Iowa, Eleanor (James) Donovan, Erna (Robert) Horn and Mary Jane (William) O'Brien of Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews and their families; and a dear friend, Margaret Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1975; her daughter, Karen Douglas in April 2000; her son-in-law, Ken Douglas in 1997; her twin sister, Florence Noe; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Brill; and three brothers-in-law, Dr. Lloyd Konen, Arthur J. Steffen and Floyd O. Brill. Services: A Liturgy of Catholic Burial was held at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel of the Risen Christ on Saturday, July 29. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.

Violet O'Harrow Carrier
Violet O'Harrow Carrier, 99, formerly of Russell Manor, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 1, 2000, at the home of her daughter She was born May 26, 1901, on a farm in North Eldorado, a daughter to James Bert and Roan Close O'Harrow. She attended country school. On April 9, 1926, she married Spencer Carrier in Fond du Lac, and for 24 years, side by side, they ran Carrier's Grocery Store in Fond du Lac, from 1928 through 1952. Mrs. Carrier was a former member of Division Street Methodist Church in Fond du Lac, and currently a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Jean Carrier (Raymond) Robichaud of Ripon; grandchildren, Michael (Anne Wondra) of Waukesha, Mark (Kathy Brack) of Ripon, Bryon of Phoenix, Ariz., Jon (Karen Ackerson) of New Port Richey, Fla. and Catherine (Mark Philipsky) of Fond du Lac; great-grandchildren, Brady and Trevor Robichaud, Megan, Tyler and Rachel Robichaud, and Connor Philipsky. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, an infant son in 1938 and two sisters. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon, with the Rev. David Busker officiating. Interment icon will be at North Eldorado Cemetery, Town of Eldorado. Visitation: Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the services. A memorial has been established. Darwin E. Ahrens
Darwin E. Ahrens, 69, of Oshkosh, died Monday, July 31, 2000. He married Betty J. Daskam on Aug. 25, 1951, in Oshkosh. Darwin was employed by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Services: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeff Tomberlin officiating. Burial will be at the Lake View Memorial Park. Shirley L. Pennington
Shirley L. Pennington, 71, of 101 Western Ave., Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, Aug. 1. 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born in Campbellsport on July 1, 1929, the son of Simon and Mary Moser Serwe. She married Earl F. Pennington on Oct. 3, 1950, and he preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1976. She worked as a school bus driver for over 35 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Survivors include her children, Mark of Cheyenne, Wyo., Michael (Deb) of Tampa, Fla., Chet (Shelly) of Campbellsport, Sharon Pennington of Ripon, Jean Wustrack of Fond du Lac and Mary Pennington of Green Bay; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Becky, Aubrey, Christy, Tara, Nick, Jacque, Erica, Luke and Jesse; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Madison and Joey; her brother Ray (Mary Beth) Serwe of Fond du Lac; and her sisters, Bernice Timler of Wautoma, Imelda "Tiny" Kissinger of West Bend, Gertrude (Bill) Polzin of Fond du Lac, Mildred Schoesow of Fond du Lac and Jane Serwe of Fond du Lac. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott; a daughter, Jane; and a brother, James. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. The Rev. Francis Malloy will officiate, and cremation will follow, with inurnment in St. Matthew's Cemetery. Visitation: From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lauretta B. Collien
Lauretta B. Collien, 102, formerly of Oakfield and a resident of the Waupun Christian Home, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at the Waupun Christian Home. She was born Nov. 28, 1897, in the Town of LeRoy, the daughter of John and Adeline Zimmerman Attenberger. On March 22, 1916, she married Albert "Pat" Collien. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1982. Lauretta and her husband farmed in the Brownsville and Oakfield area before moving to Oakfield in 1924. She later worked as a cook at Mammoth Springs Canning Factory and for many years with the Oakfield School district until she retired. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oakfield. Survivors include two daughters, Laurelda Lechner of Mayville and Nyla Wild of Waupun; one son, Robert (Alice) Collien of Cumming, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Services: Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Oakfield, with the Rev. Robert Bitter officiating. Burial was at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: Visitation was held at the church Monday from noon until time of the services. George W. Jenne
George W. Jenne, 90, of 248 Spring St., Campbellsport, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born June 5, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., the son of George F. and Elizabeth Granger Jenne. He married Frances Peart on Oct. 19, 1941. She preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1980. He married Marilyn Schill on Sept. 2, 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He worked as a refrigeration supervisor for Acurate Engineering in Chicago until retirement. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; his daughters, Joan (Ray) Vandermar of Campbellsport and Linda Brand of Tampa, Fla.; his grandchildren, Scott (Rosalba) Vandermar, Ken (Linh) Vandermar, Cathy (Chris) Hale, Janet Vandermar and Tim Brand; his great-grandchildren, Michelle and Michael; his step-grandchildren, Dennis Farrell of Menasha, Mary Jane Farrell of Denver, Colo., James (Jane) Farrell of Oshkosh and Laura Stagg of Green Lake; 10 step-children; and a special friend, Gordon Schill. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Campbellsport. The Rev. Francis Malloy will officiate and entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation: Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the services. Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is assisting the family.
