Jan 8, 2007 June Miller, 75, of Newton, died Saturday, January 6, 2007, at her home. She was born June 3, 1931, at Oka, Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Martha West Brannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Brannon; and sisters, Mary Ann Rouse and Letha Simons. June was a retired beautician and was a member of the Newton Baptist Church, Newton, since November 5, 1961. Survivors include her husband, Okey Miller, whom she married February 19, 1947, in the Newton United Methodist Church parsonage; daughters and sons-in-law, Carrolyn and David O’Neal of Oak Harbor, OH, and Sandra and Delmis Tallman of Newton; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrell and Carolyn Miller of Newton; sisters, Orpha Cottrell of Spencer and Ernestine Keaton of Orma; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m., in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Ronald W. Fisher officiating. will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Born on June 10, 1915, in Procious, she was the daughter of the late William and Addie Procious. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carper; sisters, Stella Thomas and Daliah Hart, and brother, Leonard Procious. She was a homemaker and a member of Horner's Fork Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Hattie Rose of Harrison, and a brother, Wendell Rose of Massillon, OH. She was a waitress at Bell?s Restaurant in Clay for many years, and was a member of Fola Missionary Baptist Church. Roy Arnold Keener, 76, of Kearns, Utah, formerly of Clay, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at home after a long illness. He served in the Air Force for eight years and retired as a truck driver after 25 years of service. In addition to his wife, Jackie, he is survived by his daughter, Karla Peterson-Paulson; son, Dale; mother, Beatrice Keener of Elkview; brothers, Rensford Jr. of Texas, Pete of Florida and Darrell of Belle; and sisters, Artie Melton of Elkview, Joan Perdew of Ohio, Brenda Beasley of South Carolina and Norma Robinson of Elkview. Dec 11 2006 Aaron Matthew Nottingham, 32, of Snow Camp, N.C., passed away December 7, 2006, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He enjoyed being a father and a husband. He was employed with Harris Teeter as a manager in the meat department. He was a Mason in Durham, N.C., with the Oak Grove Lodge No. 750. He was a big West Virginia University fan and an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, April Ross Nottingham; daughter, Savannah Nottingham at home; parents, Ralph and Dianne Duffield Nottingham of Duck; sisters, Rhonda Nottingham of Jacksonville, N.C., and Rachael Nottingham of Greensboro, N.C., and Amanda Hughes and husband Charles of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews. During her career she taught at Robinson Fork, Blue Knob, Twistabout, Hagar, and Clay Elementary Schools. She also taught Sunday School for many years.
