May 10 2006 Denvil D. “Denny” Scott, 68, of Clay passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at home after a long illness. Born on April 22, 1938, at Braxton Creek, he was the son of the late J. R. Scott and Gladys Duffield Scott. He was owner/operator of Denny’s Auto Parts in Clay for 34 years, a U. S. Army Veteran, and a Christian. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie K. Scott of Clay; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Derek Jennings of Wallback; sister, Margaretta Cottrell of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; brothers, Roy Jr Scott of St. Albans, Earl “Cam” Scott of Wadsworth, OH, and John “Frank” Scott of Clay. She was born on April 2, 1923 in Newton, WV to the late Henry ?Pat? and Catherine ?Kitty? Burdette. May 4 2006 Cecil Pritt, 84, of Montgomery, formerly of Lizemores, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Montgomery Elderly Extended Care Unit. Born on October 6, 1921, in Clay County, he was the son of the late John Nathaniel Pritt and Rebecca Jane Morris Pritt. He was a retired coal miner and trucker, a World War II veteran, and attended Bethel Baptist Church. May 1 2006 Howard Lacy Loving, 80, of Maysel,died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of VFW Clay Post No. 4419. He was retired from Gilbert Imported Hardwoods. He was the son of the late Norman W. and Hettie Hamric Loving. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ellenore Boggs Loving; daughter, Francene Tolliver and her husband Bob of Pineville; sons, Howard Loving II and wife Rhonda of Pineville, and Michael Loving and his wife Rebecca of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Beulah Foster, Lola Rhodes, both of Clay, Mary Triplett of Ohio, and Radie Nichols of Teays Valley; brother, Eugene Loving of Charleston; grandchildren, Amanda Perry and Rachel Beth Tolliver, both of Pineville; Howard Loving III of Orlando, Fla., Norman Loving II of Pineville, Jeanie Loving of Melbourne, Fla., Hunter Loving of Melbourne, Fla., and Taylor Poff of Roanoke, Va. Judy Mae Carte, 61, of Strange Creek, died April 29, 2006, at the home of her daughter, Dianna Lynne Joseph of Galloway, Ohio. She was born July 27, 1944, in Franklin County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ellis and Martha Johnson Holt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church, Strange Creek. In addition to her daughter, Dianna, she is also survived by her husband, Reggie A. Carte; daughter, Rose Marie O'Neil of Grove City, Ohio; stepchildren, Regina Gebhart, Jeffrey Carte, and Michael Carte; four brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Born on April 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lee “Poppy “ Triplett and Lula Rose Triplett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Virgle E. Nelson, daughter, Nancy Nelson, three brothers and four sisters. She was a loving wife and mother, and a born-again Christian. April 19 2006 Jerry C. Howell, 60, of Maysel, died April 18, 2006 at home. He was born on Feb. 15, 1946 in Martinsville, VA, and was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Howell of Maysel; son, Jerry Howell, Jr.; daughters, Gina Wood and Sharon Howell; two brothers and two sisters; eight grandchildren. The body will be cremated. April 16 2006 Hazel Mae Gray, 68, of Wallback entered into rest April 13, 2006, at Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ivydale. Born on June 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Curt West and Roxie Nutter of Bickmore. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Gray; and grandson, Eric McGlothlin. She worked at Foodland in the meat department and at Kellwood as a cutter. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Born on May 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Laken Robert Pringle and Cora Williams Pringle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Richardson; brothers, Virgil, Jesse, and Dennis Pringle. March 27 2006 Wilma Arlene Duffield Eyermann, 87, entered into final rest on Friday, March 24, 2006, at her daughter?s home in Butler Kentucky, where she has resided for the past eight years. Born on July 8, 1918, in Duck, WV, she was the daughter of the late J. Dyer Duffield and Emma Vaughn Duffield. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert B. Eyermann, four brothers and a sister. Her sister Emelyn Duffield Linkinogger of Looneyville, WV and Brother Paul Duffield of California survive her. She is also survived by her daughters Suzan, Martha and Cathy and sons Robert Jr. and Charles, 9 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was long-standing member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Belpre, Ohio. She was an avid reader, gardener, cared and croquet player. She enjoyed many trips to Gatlinburg with her children. She was also able to visit many Holy Land sites in 1994. In her final months she had many visits from family and friends and passed on some of her famous cooking recipes to her children.
