WAVERLY - William R. Schreckengost Sr., 67, of Waverly died March 13, 2003 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Thurl Bunk and Hazel Marie Andrews Schreckengost. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for the Asbestos Worker Union Local 80. He was a 41 year member of the Williamstown Masonic Lodge No. 129 AF and AM. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Parkersburg, a York Rite, and a member of Calvary Commandery No. 3 of Parkersburg. He was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 58 of Williamstown and of the Ogden United Methodist Church.

MINNORA - James P. Taylor, 73, of Minnora died March 12, 2003, in Findlay, Ohio, following a long illness
He was born in Kanawha County, Sept. 20, 1929, a son of Mrs. Thelma Foreman Taylor of Morgantown, W.Va., and the late Cecil M. Taylor. He was a member of the Minnora United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Alaska. He was a graduate of Clay County High School and attended the University of Charleston.

Survivors include two sons, William and Michael Nixon; five daughters, Helen McNeely, Karen Nixon, Jean Myers, Linda Warfield and Janice Robinson;14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Walker; and one sister, Ruth Ann Henson.

MINERAL WELLS - William "David" Dellinger, 46, of Mineral Wells died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1956, in Parkersburg, a son of Vernon D. Dellinger and the late Edith (Wilson) Dellinger. He had been employed by Forma Scientific of Marietta and Challenger Electric of Parkersburg. He was a member of Lauckport Baptist Church, was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.

ST. MARYS - Della V. Hackathorn, 88, of West Virginia One, St. Marys died March 12, 2003, at Harmar Place, Marietta.
She was born May 21, 1914, near Schultz, Pleasants County, a daughter of the late William H. and Sarah J. Dearth Moore. She was the salutatorian of St. Marys High School graduating class of 1936. She worked for several years in Building 72 Lab at the American Cyanamid and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church of Schultz.

He is survived by his mother, Leora Morgenstern; one sister, Lana Bartkiewicz; one brother, Larry Hendershot; two nephews; and four nieces.

Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Grover C. and Stella Metheney Houchin. He was a retired operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Ohio Local No. 18. He was a member of the Minnora I00F and the Beech Church.

He was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Jackson County. He was a farmer and sawmill worker and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors are one daughter, Marguerite Randolph Goff; six grandchildren, Leanna Gladden, Paula Goff, Debbie Cowgill, Brenda Beckett, Randy Randolph, and Kathy Carpenter; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

PARKERSBURG - Eloise Morris Sperati, 86, of Parkersburg died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born March 13, 1917, in Blair, Neb., a daughter of the late Harry L. and Louise Eller Morris. Mrs. Sperati was a homemaker. She was a former associate editor of the 14th edition of the Dewey Decimal classification. She worked at the resource center of the Alexis I. duPont High School in Wilmington, Del. She attended Dana College in Blair, Neb., and was graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1938. Mrs. Sperati received her library science degree in 1940 from the University of Illinois. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Blair and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg.

He was a member of the DAV, VFW in Parkersburg, Knights of Columbus, St. Matthew Catholic Church of Ravenswood, American Legion in Parkersburg, and the Point Pleasant Moose Club.

She was a lady in every sense of the word; a talented artist, an entertainer, a gifted pianist and singer know for her quick wit and sensitivity. Frances Fitzpatrick was a limitless source of joy and laughter. As a wife, mother and grandmother she was unparalleled.
