Survivors include two daughters, Mary Wagner and Suzanne Crawford, both of Port St. Lucie; one son, John M. Funk Jr. of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Mary Simmons of Zephyrhills, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

PARKERSBURG - Lee D. Johnson, 79, of Parkersburg died March 10, 2003, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Wendell H. and Minnie B. Bryan Johnson. He had retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 18 where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the North Parkersburg Kiwanis Club.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -Marie B. Jones passed away March 10, 2003, in Indianapolis, Ind., after an extended illness.
She was born March 30, 1917, to Brooks B. and Emma Ferrell in Spencer. She was a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene. Her civic and social activities included many years of volunteering for the West Virginia Black Walnut Festival committee, serving one year as president, Hill and Hollow Garden club, Stitch and Chatter club, Girl Scout leader, PTA, and many others.

GLENVILLE - Betty Heater Luzader, 76, of Glenville departed this life at 4:15 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Arbors of Marietta Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born March 28, 1926, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Paul Heater and Lucille Harvey Gaines. Mrs. Luzader was a 1943 graduate of Weston High School and a member of Glenville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Salmons and her husband, Gary; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

PARKERSBURG - Lester Kermit Roberts,83, of Summit Road, Parkersburg, died March 13, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Coy Ray and Verna Irene Frost Roberts. He retired from Union Carbide after 35 years and was a member of Parkersburg VFW Post 1212. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and also served as a sergeant in the 26th Infantry, 1st Division, Company A, also known as the ''Big Red One,'' and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

She was born July 3, 1907, in Allingdale, Nicholas County, W.Va., the daughter of Charles Mitchel and Fanny Keen Rowe. She attended Glenville State College and was a teacher in Webster and Nicholas counties for 20 years. She was a member of Frostproof Methodist Church.

She was born in Webster County, a daughter of the late Richard and Dilly Mollahan. She owned and operated Daugherty Propane and Supplies with her husband, the late Richard L. Daugherty. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the Daughters of America J.R.O.U.A.M.

She was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Alvy and Lona Gay Freshour. She worked for Doe Miller Sons for 25 years and retired in 1993. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was born June 29, 1920, in Roane County, a son of the late Ed and Goldie Short Grimm. He was retired from the McIntosh and Grimm oil field business with over 50 years of services, was a member of American Legion Post 21 and the Boggs Fork Community Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born Nov. 20, 1921, at Freed, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Effie Smith Morrison. He was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church at Big Springs. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1941. He had worked many years in the oil fields and had retired from Buckeye Oil.
