MINERAL WELLS - William Robert "Bill" Mace, 73, of Mineral Wells passed away May 31, 2003, at his residence.
He was born in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Freer R. and Pearl McPeek Mace. He was retired from Kardex, coached little league baseball and enjoyed following his grandchildren in various sporting events. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

FREMONT, Ind. - S. Lisa Starcher Metz, 42, of Fremont, Ind., formerly of Parkersburg, died May 28, 2003, in Fremont.
She was born in Parkersburg and was the daughter of Sondra Lee Lemley Mills of Parkersburg and the late Harry Virgil Mills. She had worked for GE and DuPont in Parkersburg and for the Health Equipment and American Legion in Fremont. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion in Fremont and Parkersburg and the Eagles in Parkersburg. She was a member of the Larkmead Faith Tabernacle.

PENNSBORO - Shirley Robertson, 66, of Route 2, Pennsboro departed this life Sunday, June 1, 2003, at the family residence.
Mrs. Robertson was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Pennsboro. She had been employed by the Atlantic Telephone and Telegraph Co. in Pennsboro as a switchboard operator prior to her retirement. She was a graduate of Pennsboro High School with the Class of 1954 and, with her husband, helped maintain a 300-acre farm on W.Va. 74 North near Mountain, W.Va.

HOCKINGPORT, Ohio - Nina Rockhold, 90, of Hockingport died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born Sept. 19, 1912, a daughter of the late James and Minnie Buchanan Randolph. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hockingport United Methodist Church.

SPENCER - Daniel K. Tolliver, 83, of Spencer died Saturday, May 31, 2003.
Survivors include seven sons, Robert, Kenneth, Melvin, Delbert, John, Marvin and Claude; three daughters, Loretta McCormick, Edith Tolliver and Rosetta Cottrell; a half-sister and brother; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial with military rites will be in Spencer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CLARKSBURG - Joseph J. Ayoob, 73, of 317 Capitol St., Clarksburg died at 8:30 p.m. Friday evening, May 30, 2003, at his residence under the care of Hospice.
He was born April 5, 1930, at St. Mary's Hospital in Clarksburg, a son of the late Nemar Ayoob and Mary Herrick Ayoob. He worked at Eagle Convec Glass Co. for 46 years and served as president of their local union. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Cuba. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a graduate of R-W High School.

WILLIAMSTOWN - Richard R. Hart, 81, of Caroline Avenue, WIlliamstown died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Arbors in Marietta.
He was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Marietta, a son of the late Raymond Hart and the late Katherine Russler Hart. He was a graduate of Marietta High School with the Class of 1940 and had served in the U.S. Army in the infantry as a drill instructor from 1942-1945. He had been trained as an automobile mechanic and had been employed at the Summers Automobile Agency. He had later been employed at Union Carbide - later Elkem - for 32 years until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed hunting and working with stained glass. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Williamstown.

She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Eula Lockhart Fore Boggs Sims. She attended Calvary Temple Church, Parkersburg.

ST. MARYS - Evelyn Hart Nichols, 84, of Route 1, St. Marys died May 29, 2003, at the Arbors of Marietta.
She was born June 23, 1918, at Cloverdale, Pleasants County, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Margie Oliver Hart. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Marys High School. She was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, hummingbirds and being a partner with her husband in building houses and pumping the oil and gas wells.
