SPENCER - The Rev. Lester Ray Walker, 71, of Spencer went to be with the Lord on Nov. 15, 2003, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
He was born May 24, 1932 in Woodland, Ill., a son of the late Shirley and Edna Johnson Walker. He graduated from St. Anne High School and received his Bible training at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill. He attended the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, where he received his voice training. He took continuing education with the West Virginia Baptist Continuing Education Classes.
Ruby Williamson
ST. MARYS - Ruby E. Williamson, 90, of Nine Mile Community, St. Marys, departed this life on Nov. 17, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Williamson was born on July 23, 1913 at Jonestown Community near St. Marys to the late Ervin W. and Eliza J. Morris Little. She was a homemaker, a member of the Hebron C.E.O.S. and attended the Maple Lane Freewill Baptist Church.
Mary Winans
MINERAL WELLS - Mary Frances Winans, 79, of Mineral Wells died Nov.16, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Millard Callahan and Garnet Callahan Greathouse. She was a member of Mineral Wells Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church. She worked for the Wood County School System for 23 years beginning in 1963 at Lubeck Elementary School and retired in 1986 from Tygart Elementary. Prior to that she taught with a teacher's certificate for 10 years. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.
Melba Elliott
PARKERSBURG - Melba Elliott, 90, of Parkersburg, formerly of Millstone, W.Va., died Nov. 15, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Alva and Clara Haught Elliott. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation, she worked at Gouveneur Hospital in New York. She entered the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps from New York in 1942 and was stationed at Brooklyn Naval Hospital. Later she helped set up a U.S. Naval hospital on Long Island, N.Y. She also served at Mare Island, Calif., and the U.S. Naval Base No. 18 in Guam. While at Guam, she treated casualties from the Okinawa and Iwo Jima campaigns and survivors from the USS Indianapolis. After returning to the United States, she served at the U.S. Naval Air Dispensary in Norfolk, Va., and later at Norfolk Naval Hospital. She was discharged in 1947. She later was an office nurse for the late O.H. Brundage, M.D., for 20 years. She was a member of the Millstone Church of Christ and attended the Rosemar Church of Christ.

DAVISVILLE - Delmer Chester Kelley, 61, of Davisville passed away Nov. 16, 2003, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Macil Riggs and was a self-employed general contractor for 35 years.

PARKERSBURG - Linda Sue Ketterman, 54, of Parkersburg died Nov. 13, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 26, 1948, a daughter of the late James Owen Ketterman and Leona Hollandsworth Ketterman Murphy of Parkersburg.
Geneva Meredith
VIENNA - Geneva Irene Meredith, 83, of Vienna died Nov. 15, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Virgil C. and Lulu Perry Davis. She was retired from Bausch and Lomb with 17 years of service. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer, a 50-year member of United Methodist Women and the Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Lillie Peters
WALKER - Lillie V. "Betty" Peters, 80, of Walker passed away Nov. 15, 2003, in the intensive care unit of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Wood County, a daughter of the late W.H. "Nick" Brown and Sylvia Chidester Brown. Betty was a member of the Big Run Independent E.U.B. Church at Cairo and retired from the Elks Club of Parkersburg with many years of service. She was a former employee of the Mayflower Restaurant and the Recreation Lunch Diner.

PARKERSBURG - Lavina Elizabeth Stallings, 80, of Parkersburg died Sunday Nov. 16, 2003, at The Willows.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late William E. and Alice Clutter Madison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Medina Church of God.
Bea Worthington
VINCENT, Ohio - Beatrice "Bea" Worthington, 93, of Vincent died at 8:54 p.m. Nov. 15, 2003, at Marietta Center.
She was born Sept. 9, 1910, in western Washington County, to Francis M. and Mary E. Hall Meek. She was a 1928 graduate of Vincent High School. She had lived on the Worthington Farm for the past 73 years. Bea was a member of the Barlow Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years and a member of the Ladies Aid of the Church for many years. For the past several years, she had attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a member of the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a 65-year member of the Mt. Moriah Chapter 506, Order of Eastern Star, in Beverly. She enjoyed country life, bingo, quilting, sewing and cards.
Glenna Yoho
LITTLE HOCKING - Glenna S. Yoho, 65, of Little Hocking went to be with our Lord and Savior on Nov. 16, 2003, at the Arbors at Marietta.
She was born March 24, 1938 in Findlay, Ohio, a daughter of the late George B. Harpst and H. Cleo (McVey) Hoffman. Mrs. Yoho was a loving wife and mother and a doting grandmother. She is a member of Decatur Chapel where she enjoyed singing and was well-known for special song selections in her church and the community. She was an avid seamstress and was recognized for her beautiful wedding gowns and floral arrangements. She had formerly been employed with St. Joseph's Hospital as a medical records clerk until her disability.

She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Alvie and Florence Knupp Congrove.

She is survived by three brothers, Albert Ray, Arthur Ray and Joseph Carter; and several nephews and nieces, including Ricky Lee Carter of the home, Lloyd Warfield, Albert Carter Jr., Mary Rose, Gloria Bigley and Judith Lowe.
