MARIETTA - Mary Louise Shamoun, of 202 Dale St., died at 4 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, due to complications of the liver.
She was born in Marietta to Joseph and Anna Gandor Haddad. She graduated from Marietta High School. Louise was co-owner of Ohio Valley Grocery, retiring in 2002 after 65 years, working there with her family. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She loved walking in town and loved being with her family and friends most of all.

She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Walter and Laura Agnes Wise Scott.

PARKERSBURG - Thelma Rhodes Stephens, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 11, 2004, from complications of cancer at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, La.
She was born Dec. 10, 1925, was a 1944 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 1947 graduate of the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital's Student Nursing Cadet Corps. She was a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church of Williamstown.

She was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Sharp County, Ark., a daughter of the late Elmer and Byrl Cline Galland. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
George Watkins
PALESTINE - George R. Watkins, 73, of Palestine, went home to be with his Lord on March 24, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 6, 1930, in Little Hocking, a son of the late Clay and Mae Sullivan Watkins. He retired from Johns-Manville after more than 39 years of service. He enjoyed his family, the farm and fishing. He loved having company and showing hospitality. He attended the Mount Hope United Methodist Church where he was a member.

Shirley Ann Oman Carter, 65, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Carter was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Arlo and Vesta Cale Oman. She was married to William Clifford Carter on Aug. 7, 1960, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1984.

She was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Roane County, a daughter of the late William Pernas and Lorene Byers Wells. She was a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed painting, art and crafts.

Homer W. "Bob" McIntyre, 69, of Mineral Wells passed away Oct. 12, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1935, in Wirt County, a son of the late Isaac A. and Ruby A. McIntyre. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War, and was a machine operator for Kenwood Drilling Co. for 20 years.

Beatrice was born Oct. 18, 1920, in Mason County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Walter A. and Flora Whittington Wood. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Paden City.

George I. Whitehead
George Irvin Whitehead Sr., 77, years young of Parkersburg our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend went to be with his Lord Oct. 10, 2004.
George was born July 22, 1927, in Miami, Fla., the son of the late Carrie and Frank Whitehead. He proudly served as a PFC in the U.S. Army from Dec. 11, 1945, to June 8, 1947. He served in Japan with the 466th Signal Heavy Construction Co. George was a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades under the Painters Local 1144 of Parkersburg District 53. He was an avid bowler, loved camping and working in his garage. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lena Tuttle Whitehead of Parkersburg; his 10 children, Deloris Roberts and fiance, Bob Strahler, of Marietta, George I. and Janet Whitehead Jr. of Elizabeth, Leslie and Margie Whitehead of Hagerstown, Ind., Mary and Jeff Smearman of Parkersburg, Roger Whitehead of Marietta, Diana and Chuck Heaney of Fairview, James and Eileen Whitehead of Middletown, Ohio, Kimberly and William Brookover of Vienna, Sophia and William Thomas of Parkersburg and Geraldine and Jay Griffin of Davisville; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Graham of Bradenton, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Daisy Mae.
Marguerite Decker
Marguerite Cross Decker, 84, a long-time resident of Belpre died Oct. 6, 2004, in Ormond Beach, Fla., where she has made her home for the past five years.
She was born in Belpre March 9, 1920, the youngest daughter of Marvin and Chloe Cross. She attended Belpre schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Parkersburg. During World War II she was an ensign in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corp. and later served on the faculty at St. Joseph's until her retirement. She was a member of the Belpre Congregational Church.
Theodore Parker
Theodore F. Parker, 83, of Parkersburg passed away Oct. 9, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Smithville, W.Va., a son of the late William Granville and Lottie Miller Parker. He was an electrician and owned and operated Parker Electric and Sign Service, and was an active member of the Lions Club.
