Martha E. Miner
Martha E. Miner, 95, of Kenton, Ohio, formerly of Pennsboro, W.Va., departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Kenton.
Mrs. Miner was born on May 14, 1909, at Pennsboro, to the late William Homer and Mollie Monroe Gray. She was a graduate of Pennsboro High School with the class of 1928 and Marietta College of Marietta. Mrs. Miner, along with her late husband, owned and operated the former Miner's Appliance Service of Pennsboro. She had been a cook at the former Pennsboro High School; was a member of the Ritchie County Service Personnel; had been a member of the Pennsboro Senior Citizens; and had been a receptionist at the McCullough Funeral Home for nine years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church now known as Pennsboro United Methodist Church.
Allen D. Nolan
He was born Sept. 6, 1966, in Marietta, a son of Robert and Mary Hoce Nolan of Marietta. He was a graduate of Warren High School and received his associate degree in business from Washington County Technical College. He later attended Ohio State University for two years before transferring to Ohio Valley College, where he was awarded his bachelor's degree in organizational management. He had been employed at Broughton Foods in the production plant for the past five years and had also been associated with Century 21 Full Service Realty.
Raymond L. Smith
Raymond L. "Smitty" Smith, 83, of Walker passed away Oct. 6, 2004, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Wood County, a son of the late Arlington and Katie E. Wilson Smith. Raymond was retired from Blaw Knox Steel Co. in Pittsburgh, Pa. He attended Faith Gospel Church, Parkersburg and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.
Marion R. Welch
Marion R. "Bob" Welch, 73, of Richmond, Ind., died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
He was born March 11, 1931, in Parkersburg, to the late Roy Welch and Kathryn (Yates) Brooker. He was a member of the Preble County Amateur Radio Club, was a square dance caller and an Eagle Scout. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Donald E. Butler
Donald E. Butler, 71, of St. Marys died Oct. 17, 2004.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, with visitation from 5-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Thursday.

Cindy Sue Elder, 38, of Parkersburg died Oct. 4, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

Robert M. Grant
Robert Miller Grant, 85, of Vienna died Oct. 3, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born in St. Marys, the son of the late Herbert and Nellie Grant. He had worked at one time for the Surprise Store in Parkersburg and later worked and retired from the Dils Brothers Department Store, where he was a vice president. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg and served on the Social Ministry Committee. He had volunteered with the Resource Conservation and Development of the Little Kanawha Division over a five county region. He was a longtime volunteer with the American Red Cross, working with military and family services. He had also volunteered with the St. Joseph's Hospital I.C.U. family unit. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with Occupational Forces in Germany, and later served in the Korean War.
Evelyn L. Lewis
Evelyn Laverne Lewis, 81, of Ravenswood died Oct. 4, 2004, at her home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Belleville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles O. and Eunice Amos Wigal. She retired from Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corporation after 30 years of service as a secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood and a Circle 4 member.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born in Kanawha County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Keen Reynolds. She had at one time worked for the Heck's Department Store and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1933, at Beckley, W.Va., to the late Virginia C. Deck Jackson.
Frederick M. Clarkson
Frederick Michael Clarkson, 53, of Ravenswood passed away Oct. 3, 2004, at Ravenswood Village following an extended illness.
He was born April 6, 1951, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, the son of proud parents, Ronald and Hallie Clarkson. Mike worked for 30 years in various jobs in casting and metal trading at the Kaiser Aluminum and Pechiney Aluminum plant in Millwood, W.Va. His wit and wonderful sense of humor was loved and will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was born in Mineral Wells, a son of the late Charles B. and Lena May Easton Griffin. He retired from IBEW No. 71. He was Methodist by faith and was a former member of Stardusters Square Dance Club.

Flavy "Kelly" Kelly Jr., 79, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Roane County, W.Va., died Oct. 2, 2004, at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1925, in Liverpool, W.Va., a son of the late Flavy Kelly Sr. and Eupha Scyoc Kelly. He was an administrator of schools in West Virginia and Ohio, past president of the Follansbee Lions Club, a member of the American Legion, member of the Victory Baptist Church of Sistersville and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
