Carol Ann Lapointe, 61, of Pineview Estates, Waverly, W.Va., died at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1943, in Newport, R.I., a daughter of Alice Theresa Bettencourt Sullivan and the late Theodore Paul Sullivan. She had made her home in Newport, was a graduate of Newport High School and had attended Automation Institute in Boston, Mass. She was employed at the Union Carbide Silicon Plant at Sistersville for 26 years until her retirement in 2003.
Arthur J. Prusack
Arthur James Prusack, 83, of Munday, W.Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005.
He was born in Avonmore, Pa., a son of Metro and Anna Butz Prusack of Salina, Pa. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was retired from Beecher Drilling Co. after 40 years as a driller and dozer operator. He was a member of the Brooksville Missionary Baptist Church.

James "Jim" R. Whealdon, 76, of Cutler, Ohio, died Feb. 6, 2005, at his residence.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late William B. and Sarah E. Livingston Whealdon. He was a member of the Cutler Mission Church. He retired from Union Carbide Co.
Hazen L. Ayres
Hazen L. Ayres, 82, of Belle, W.Va., died Feb. 6, 2005, at the home of his niece, Betty Lynch of Point Pleasant, W.Va.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Mellin, W.Va., a son of the late Alva and Mary Hoover Ayres. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong resident of Belle and a 1956 graduate of Marshall University. He was a school teacher for the Kanawha County School System, retiring after 30 years of service. He taught chemistry, math, physics and science.
Donald E. Clark
Donald Edward Clark, 71, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Virgil and Mabel Westfall Clark. He retired from Cyanamid as a chemical engineer. He was a Baptist by faith and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Evelyn Ann Kinney Congrove, 70, of Waverly passed away Feb. 4, 2005, at the Arbors of Marietta.
Mary A. English
Mary Ann English, 74, of Willard Street, Parkersburg, formerly of Veto, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord following a lengthy battle with cancer. She passed away 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Lurich, Va., the daughter of Emmons Blaine and Nannie Burke Gore Robertson. She was a graduate of Vincent High School. She had been employed by Yonkers Manufacturing and by J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was active in Caleb's Crowd. Mary enjoyed shopping and playing bingo.
Robert D. Franklin
Robert D. Franklin, 78, of Stuart, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Salerno Bay Manor in Stuart.
He was born in Marion, Ind., and was a resident of Stuart for 25 years, coming from Parkersburg, W.Va. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 10132 Hobe Sound. He served in the army during World War II. He was the son of the late Jesse Franklin and the late Jennie (Isenhower) Franklin.
Shirley R. Lane
Shirley R. "Cork" Lane, 74, of Ripley died Feb. 4, 2005.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with visitation from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Zora Lott went on to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2005.

Mary Allen McDougle, 89, of Belpre passed away Feb. 4, 2005, at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.
She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Republic, Mo., a daughter of the late Frank E. Sr. and Emma Lee Pipkin O'Dell. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Stephen R. "Bill" Mixer, 78, of Parkersburg died Feb. 5, 2005, at his residence.
He was born July 22, 1926, in Valley Mills, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Sadie Smith Mixer. He retired from Centurial Products after many years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, enjoyed working with cement, making yard ornaments and was a baptist by faith.

Mary Beth Ness, 57, of Pullman, W.Va., White Oak Community departed this life on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Parkersburg following a brave battle with cancer.
Mary Beth was born on July 26, 1947, at Clarksburg, W.Va., to the late Francis C. and Virginia Pauline Jobes Harris. She was a graduate of the former Pennsboro High School with the Class of 1965 and held a bachelor's degree from Glenville State College. She was dedicated to her job as an office manager for SW Resources of Parkersburg and promoted and enjoyed the sport of auto racing. As a youth, she attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Pennsboro.

Tessa Tennant Poling, 100, of Davidsonville, Md., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
She has lived in Davidsonville with her daughter, Kathryn, since October 2000. She had previously lived in Grantsville, W.Va.

Lena M. Arnold, 80, of Parkersburg died Feb. 3, 2005, at the Marietta Health Center.
She was born in Washington County on Sept. 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Howard and Jessie Flowers Sciance. She was a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church, was a homemaker and a self-employed domestic.

Otis Chutes
Otis Chutes, 72, of Hockingport died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born April 12, 1932, in Coolville, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lottie Buchanan Chutes. He was an operator for Ideal Box Inc., attended Faith Chapel Community Church and was an avid musician.
Charles R. Corbitt
Charles Richard Corbitt, 70, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had survived two by-pass surgeries and a heart attack, but succumbed to pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born Feb. 1, 1935, the son of the late Charles Bradford and Carrie Sims Corbitt. He was a retired teamster from Carolina Freight, Associated Transport, DuPont and others. He was an Army veteran and a Christian member of the Two Runs Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping vacations. Lately he watched football, races of all kinds and played spider solitaire by the hours.
Violet M. Davis
Violet M. Davis, 91, of St. Marys died Feb. 3, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1913, in Salem, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jules and Alenia Bertaux Mayer. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in St. Marys and the Altar Society. She was a 1931 graduate of Sistersville High School. She served as a teacher's aide in St. Marys public schools for many years.
