Robert M. Hornbeck Sr., 81, of Vienna died Tuesday at his residence.
Mr. Hornbeck was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Wood County. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from the former Hope Gas Co.
Irene E. Jones
Irene Elizabeth Ahart Jones, 94, of Sanford, Fla., formerly of Parkersburg died Jan. 31, 2005, at her residence.
She was born June 27, 1910, in Athens, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Sarah Russell Ahart. Irene spent most of her life in Parkersburg, where she worked the front desk at Staley's Dry Cleaners and later as a drapery consultant at Dils Brothers where she retired. She and her late husband, Barney, enjoyed camping and fishing along the Kanawha River, where they hosted many large family fish fries. Shortly after retirement, Irene and Barney moved to Miami and then to Orlando to be near her sister, Ruth Harrison, and family. While in Florida, Irene enjoyed bingo and attending church. She maintained her membership, however, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Parkersburg since 1965. Irene was a special "Auntie" to many nieces and nephews. She had a heart of gold and a wonderful outlook on life. She will be missed by all who she touched.

Florence Luella Dauber Knoch, 93, of Whipple, Ohio, died 9:30 p.m. Feb. 1, 2005, in her daughter's home with her loving family after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Muskingum Township to Katherine Wagner Dauber and Jacob Dauber.
