She was born July 22, 1919, in Ravenswood, a daughter of the late Eskey and Nellie McMurray Pepper. She was a cook at the Green Hills Country Club for 17 years and retired in 1984. She was a member of the Silverton Methodist Church.

William Eugene Chester Sr., 56, of Belpre died March 3, 2005, at Ohio University Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and was the son of the late Carolyn Palmer Chester. He was a member of the Celebration Center in Belpre.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jean Offenberger Chester; a son, William Eugene Chester Jr. of Coolville; a daughter, Layla Michelle Kinder of Havelock, N.C.; four grandchildren, Coty Genon Chester, Tristan Alexander Chester, Coewyn Kinder and Ross Kinder; one brother; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
