Clarence E. Martin
Clarence Elmer Martin of Smith Lane, Whipple, Ohio, departed this life at 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2005.
He was born on May 17, 1913, in Liberty Township, near Dalzell, a son of the late Melvin E. and Myrtle Epler Martin. He attended Dalzell Grade School and High School. He had been a member of the Dalzell Church of Christ since May of 1930. He spent his life in Liberty Township, except for more than three years in the U.S. Army during World War II. He spent 34 months in the European Campaigns with the Amphibious Engineers and was the recipient of five bronze stars for five invasions, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Normandy and Northern France. After he returned home, he farmed, did carpenter work and was a self-employed painter for many years.

Arthur E. Robinson, 84, of Rt. 1, Petroleum, Ritchie County, W.Va., departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2005, at his residence following a short illness.
Mr. Robinson was born Oct. 14, 1920, at Petroleum, to the late George and Catherine Parr Robinson. He retired from Langford Motors in Belmont, W.Va. He had owned the Sunoco Station at Glendale, Ritchie County, W.Va., and worked in the timber industry. He loved to garden and share produce with his friends and neighbors. Mr. Robinson was a World War II Army veteran and member of the V.F.W.

Mary H. Wright, 79, of Marietta Rehabilitation Center, died at 7:14 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2005, in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late James T. and Gwendolyn Hoselton McGuire. On March 11, 1941, she was married to George A. Wright, who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1977.

She was born Feb. 25, 1914, in Given, W.Va., Jackson County, to the late Everett O. Bailey and Mollie E. Pringle Bailey Anderson.

She was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Mineral Wells, a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Bertha V. Johnson Lemon. Mrs. Winans was a former employee of Viscose Corporation and was a volunteer at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Lubeck Church of Christ.
Robert F. Dugan
Robert F. (Bob) Dugan, 75, of Washington, W.Va., died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Vernon C. and Gladys Cooper Dugan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Ravenswood Aluminum after 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 140 in Mason County, American Legion Post 15 in Parkersburg, VFW in Mason City, DAV in Parkersburg and the Eagles Club of Parkersburg.

H. "Kline" Somerville, 76, of Linn, W.Va., departed this life at 8:44 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, W.Va., following an extended illness.
He was born July 15, 1928, at Coxs Mills, Gilmer County, a son of the late Hayward Murus and Roena Gae Maxson Somerville. Mr. Somerville was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1947, owner and operator of Somerville Exxon for 50 years at Linn, member of Gilmer County Farm Bureau, Gilmer County Businessman of the Year in 2003, was an avid farmer and hunter and member of Rock Grove Baptist Church.

Ruby R. Stoner, 91, of Route 1, Greenwood, W.Va., passed away on April 29, 2005, at the Sunbridge Nursing Home in Salem.
She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Dola, W.Va., a daughter of the late Brantley Robinson and Bessie Maxwell Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Emerson Stoner, on Oct. 2, 1996.

Patricia V. "Pat" Steele, 67, of Hazelgreen in Ritchie County, W.Va., departed this life on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at her residence following a short illness.
Mrs. Steele was born Jan. 15, 1938, at Goffs, near Harrisville, W.Va., to the late Basil and Ruby Clevenger Wright. She was currently the Hazelgreen correspondent for the Ritchie Gazette and the Pennsboro News. She had played piano and sang with her daughter and late husband in the group known as the Melodyaires and was a member of the Horn Creek Baptist Church, where she was a pianist.
