Everett B. Ellison
Everett B. Ellison, 94, of Charles Street, Glenville, W.Va., departed this life at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2005, in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.
He was born July 27, 1910, in Gilmer County, a son of the late Eugenis and Orpha Heckert Ellison.

Mae Belle Sheppard
Mae Belle Payne (Cookie) Sheppard of Cupertino, Calif., passed in her sleep on April 18, 2005.
She was born May 9, 1924, in Reedy, W.Va. Cookie was a loving friend to many - she was a dear mother, a caring sister and aunt, a doting grandmother and recently a great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by a large and loving family and a network of friends that spans America.

Betty J. Lee
Betty J. Lee, 48, of Marietta died Thursday, April 21, 2005, in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 18, 1956, in Parkersburg, a daughter of Eleanor Lee of Vincent, Ohio, and the late Carl Richard Lee. Her home has been in Marietta for the past 15 years, where she had been a resident in the Montgomery Group Home. She enjoyed music and television programs and also enjoyed books, magazines and being with people.

Joseph N. Province
Joseph "Joe" N. Province, 73, of Mineral Wells died April 22, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Mineral Wells, on the family home place, a son of the late Jesse W. and Georgia Hoffman Province. He was employed 20 years with Fairmont Foods/Imperial Ice Cream and retired from GE Plastics, formerly Marbon and Borg Warner, after more than 30 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee and was the active president of Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association. He was a charter member of P.M.B.S. Fire Department and was a skilled wood craftsman, making many pieces for friends and family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and had a great love for seafood.

Betty L. Clark
Betty Lee Clark, 81, of Walden Street, Coolville, Ohio, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville.
She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Coolville, a daughter of the late John Harold and Ruby Martha Russell Shanks. She was a homemaker and worked at several local restaurants and stores. She was a graduate of Troy High School and a member of the Grace Brethren Church.

B. Nadine Toler
B. Nadine Toler, 71, of West Union, Summers Community, departed this life on Friday, April 22, 2005, at her residence.
Mrs. Toler was born March 20, 1934, at Pine Knobs in Raleigh County, W.Va., to the late Fred and Pearl Bailey Gunnoe. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, and had been a member of the Church of God in Cyclone, W.Va.

Mollie M. Harris
Mollie M. Harris, 82, of Canton, Ohio, died April 20, 2005, at Hanover House in Massillon, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hadley Funeral Home, Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, where family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

I.O. 'Mac' McCoy
I.O. "Mac" McCoy, 87, of Reedsville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Harmar Place in Marietta.
He was born on July 13, 1917, in Gem, W.Va., a son of the late Ira O. McCoy Sr. and Audra McAvoy McCoy. He was a farmer for 82 years. He was employed as a conductor for CSX Railroad. He was also a school bus driver for Braxton County Schools. He was a member of Meigs County Board of Education, Kanawha Alumni Association and the Isaac Walton League. He served on the Eastern Local Board of Education for 12 years, was director of the Veterans Farmer Training Program, was a Meigs Jury Commissioner and was a member of the Meigs/Athens Educational Service Board. He was very active in the Meigs Democratic Party. He was also an auctioneer for 48 years. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Chester Methodist Church.

Margaret E. Bloomer
Margaret E. Bloomer of Washington, W.Va., passed away April 22, 2005, at her residence.
Arrangements are pending at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

James I. Midcap
James I. Midcap, 74, of Sistersville died April 22, 2005.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Middlebourne Cemetery, with visitation 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne.

Joseph N. Province
Joseph "Joe" N. Province, 73, of Mineral Wells passed away April 22, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Carl Wright
Carl Wright, 78, of Shirley, W.Va., departed this life Friday, April 22, 2005, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Tyler County, a son of the late Ruby Edward and Irene Wright Orr. Carl was a retired pipeline laborer with Carl E. Smith Co., Sandyville, W.Va. He was a member of Laborer's International of North America Local 984. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a Protestant.

Joseph C. Corra
Joseph Creed Corra, 86, of Vienna departed this life April 20, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a prolonged illness.
He was born in Pennsboro on Nov. 26, 1918, a son of the late Ellis and Eva Ferris Corra. He was a graduate of Cairo High School and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Knights of Columbus. As a young man, he worked at City Iron and Metal, and in 1950 he started Corra and Patterson Excavating. He worked at Union Carbide/ Elkem from 1953-1983. Joseph was active with Relay for Life and enjoyed raising a big garden and providing fresh garden produce to many friends and neighbors.

Alice M. Deem
Alice M. Deem, 98, formerly of Mineral Wells, died April 21, 2005, at the Willows Nursing Home.
She was born May 17, 1906, in Wood County, a daughter of the late John Fredrick Henry and Elizabeth J. Mayhew Bargeloh. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker and charter member of the Farmer's Women Club, which later became the Homemakers Club.

Betty M. LaFaber
Betty M. LaFaber, 75, of Marietta died April 21, 2005.

Jean R. Miller
Jean R. Kirkland Miller, 73, of Sistersville departed this earthly life April 20, 2005, at her residence and began her eternal life.
She was born Oct. 28, 1931, in New Martinsville, a daughter of the late Cline A. and Gladys E. Watkins Kirkland. She was one of the first employees of Mobay Chemical Corp. and was vice-president of Miller Pharmacies. She was a member of the Sistersville First United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women and Church Altar Guild; the Rhododendron Twig of Sistersville General Hospital; Red Hot Hatters of the Red Hat Society; and the P.E.O. Chapter "U."

Randy A. Null
Randy A. Null, 47, of Freeport Community, Wirt County departed this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in Parkersburg after an extended struggle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 25, 1957, in Parkersburg. Randy had worked for the Chessie System as a trackman and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way. He was a graduate of Wirt County High School and was an avid reader, enjoying history, politics and current news events. He loved fishing, crossword puzzles and was a friend to all who knew him. Randy was a member of the Cisco Community Church.

Mary E. Peery
Mary Elizabeth Peery, 79, of Marietta died April 20, 2005.

William H. Smith
William H. Smith, 74, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died April 20, 2005, in Cincinnati
He was born, Aug. 12, 1930, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Hobart and Mary McClain Smith. He was U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1948 graduate of St. Marys High School. He was a member of the St. Marys Lodge # 41 A. F. & A. M., a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Syrian Shrine Temple of Cincinnati.
