He was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Lewis County, W.Va., to Grace Conley Taylor and Elliott L. Bush. He was a Baptist by faith. He worked for Valley Distributing Co. for 20 years and retired from Montgomery Wards Delivery in 1980 after 22 years.

Emmitt A. Dowler, 82, of Parkersburg passed away Dec. 11, 2005, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1923, at Rockport, a son of the late David Andrew and Chloe Ruble Dowler. Emmitt attended the Camden Temple and formerly attended the Rockport Tri-County Worship Center. He was a 27-year employee at Penn Metal and a 15-year employee at the DeSales Heights Academy. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Melanie Ann Hutchinson, 53, of Lubeck lost a short battle with cancer on Dec. 10, 2005.
She was born Dec. 5, 1952, in Charleston, to the late Kenneth C. Hutchinson and Wilma Hutchinson Hill of Lubeck. She was employed at Marietta Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist and had worked in this field since 1972. She had also worked at Roane General, in Colorado Springs and at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years.

She was a graduate of Whitman College in Washington.

A. Ruth Morris, 78, of Low Gap, Cairo, W.Va., departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at her residence.
Mrs. Morris was born March 25, 1927, at Cairo, the daughter of the late Simon and Daisy Reed Cornell. She had owned and operated a restaurant in Cairo and was later employed in the marble and garment industry in Cairo. She had attended the Davisson Chapel United Methodist Church at Low Gap.

He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a son of the late Edison C. Norman and Ruby Collins Anderson. He was a veteran and the regional field supervisor for USAA Insurance.

Sarah M. (Miller) Reese, 99, a retired homemaker and school teacher, died Dec. 11, 2005, after a short illness at the Arbors at Marietta.
She was born Oct. 5, 1906, in Wellsburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Hiram and Sarah Burns Miller. She received her early education in Paden City, W.Va., and her teaching credentials from West Liberty and Glenville State Colleges. She joined the Methodist Church as a young woman, but was active in the Good Hope Baptist Church at Schultz, W.Va., after her marriage.

She was born March 14, 1945, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Garnet Tracewell Mills.

Funeral services will be 6 p.m. today at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Further visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem, Ind.
