He married Ella Noland, who survives with five sons, Kevin, Terry, David, Rodney and Don Beardsley; one daughter, Kim Weckbacher; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert; and three sisters, Dorothy Hendershot, Eileen Noufer and Eloise Strahler.

Lura H. Parsons Cook, 85, of Eleanor, W.Va., passed away Jan. 10, 2003, at Putnam General Hospital following a short illness.
She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Eleanor.
Harold Ferguson
Harold L. Ferguson, 76, of Belpre died Jan. 10, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Glenville. He was a Marine Corps veteran and had taught at Glenville State College. He work several years for Bobier Electronics, from where he retired. He was a 32nd degree Mason, having belonged to the Glenville Masonic Lodge. He had also been in the Knights of Pythias.
Harry Hall
Harry G. Hall, 82, of Parkersburg died Jan. 10, 2003, in Boaz.
He was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Wirt County and was the son of the late Charlie Hall and Lillie Williams Hall. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg. He had worked for the Labor's Union 1085 in Parkersburg and also the Labor's Union in Marietta, having worked for several years with Heiby Construction Company from which he retired. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Freeda May Hardie, 62, of Parkersburg died Jan. 11, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Barnes; one son, Ralph Hardie; one brother, Donald Buchanan; and one sister, Eva Buchanan.

Harley Houchin, 80, of Beallsville, Ohio, died Jan. 11, 2003, at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Hayhurst Houchin; two daughters, Kim Atkinson of Beallsville, Ohio, and Robyn Furr and her husband Bob of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Noah, Joshua, Jacob and Owen; one brother, Ray Houchin of Parkersburg; one sister, Ruth Bennett of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Marie Morgan
ELIZABETH - Former West Virginia Silver Hair Legislator Mrs. Marie Morgan, 88, of the Beulah Hill Community, Wirt County, departed this life Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Morgan was born June 12, 1914, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Omer and Jennie Wagoner Fordyce. She was a longtime member of the Wirt County Senior Citizens, where she served on the Board of Directors, and was an outspoken advocate for senior citizen issues. She served four years in the West Virginia Silver Haired Legislature and was a member of the Beulah Hill Homemakers Club. She was a founding member of the Wirt County Fair Association and a member of the Broadway Baptist Church.

Darcel Parsons, 89, of Dunbar, W.Va., died Jan. 10, 2003.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard E. Patrick
Richard E. Patrick, 91, of Parkersburg died Jan. 10, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 2, 1911, in McMechen, W.Va., a son of the late George S. and Eva Lilly Hager Patrick and was a direct descendent of Chief Justice John Marshall. Mr. Patrick retired from DuPont in 1974 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a lifelong boating and river enthusiast and raced hydroplane racing boats as a young man. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Parkersburg.

Mary L. Sparks, 74, of Marietta died Jan. 11, 2003.
She is survived by two sons, Paul and Jeffrey Sparks; four daughters, Vicki Clark, Debbie Gordon, Teresa Porter and Brenda Baker; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Campbell; and four sisters, Dolly Higgins, Louella Hughes, Marie Adams and Audrey Sciance.
William J. Tibbs
William "Bill" James Tibbs Jr., 49, of Washington, W.Va., died Jan. 10, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late William James Sr. and Alline Gertrude Flinn Tibbs. He was a teacher and coached sports for many schools in Wood County, including Blennerhassett Junior High School and Parkersburg South High School, and was currently teaching at the Washington County Career Center. He also owned WV Auto Plus and Liberty Trading Post in Lubeck. He was a talented boxer and as well as being a seven-time Golden Gloves winner and runnerup in the World Toughman Contest, coached for some boxing clubs. He attended Fairmont State College and graduated from Marshall University. He loved his two daughters and lived his life for them.

Ida Loraine Pratt, 76, of Shirley, died Jan. 9, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Pratt; son, Bruce Pratt of Shirley; daughter, Marsha Reed of Shirley; and grandchildren, Michael Reed, Jessica Pratt and Bryan Pratt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Irene Weekley; brothers, Clifton, Victor, Cecil, Clarence and Cleo Weekley; and sister, Mary Kimball.
Ralph S. Rhodes
HARRISVILLE - Ralph S. Rhodes, 73, of Harrisville, died Jan. 9, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 10, 1929, in Adrian, W.Va., the son of the late Ira J. and Edna Grace Tenney Rhodes. He worked as an electrician and later was a real estate agent with Adrian Properties, Harrisville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ritchie Church of the Nazarene.
