Mark C. Kury
Mark Coe Kury, 76, of Vienna died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at his residence.
He was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1929, a son of the late William D. and Naomi I. Miller Kury. At age 12, the family moved to Houston, Texas, and Mark graduated from high school in Houston. After graduation he attended Texas A & M and went on to the University of Houston where he graduated with a bachelors in business administration in 1950. Mark proudly served his country as an army sergeant in World War II during the occupation of Japan while in the 11th airborne division. Mark was a ROTC graduate of the University of Houston and served in the U.S Army Reserves for 18 years, attaining the rank of major. Mark worked in the construction industry for five years and was then hired by Bernard P. McDonough in October 1954 in Houston as a concrete salesman. He then transferred to New Orleans, La., in 1955 to McDonough Marine Service, a division of McDonough Construction Co. McDonough Construction Co. later changed its name to Marmac Corporation and in 1976 Mark became president of Marmac and stayed in that position until 1992. Mark was chairman and CEO of Marmac Corporation until 1996. Mark retired from Marmac but continued as chairman of the board of directors. A holding company, McDonough Corporation was formed and Mark continued to be chairman of the board. Mark came out of retirement in 2000 to join the Bernard McDonough Foundation Inc. in Parkersburg. He was elected president of the foundation in October of 2003. Mark served on the Board of Directors of the McDonough Corporation from 1976 to 1981. Mark also served on other boards of directors such as the Children's Hospital in New Orleans, the American Waterway Operators, the Offshore Marine Service Association, the Mark Twain Club in New Orleans, the West Virginia Roundtable, the Wood County Development Authority, the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport Authority and the Economic Roundtable of Mid-Ohio Valley. As well as serving on various boards, Mark is also a member of the Charter Committee of Marietta College, the School of Leadership and Business and the Rotary Club. Mark has been a member of the Church Of Christ since 1952.
Denzil H. Marty
Denzil H. Marty, 74, of Washington, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at The Willows.
He was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Wood County, a son of the late Jacob Clark and Agatha Natina Wilson Marty. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran, a Baptist by faith and was retired from E.I. Dupont Co.
Gary S. McAllister
Gary Swartz McAllister, 73, of Valley Street, Salem, died at Heartland of Clarksburg early Thursday morning, Dec. 8, 2005.
He was born July 14, 1932, in Pine Grove, W.Va., the son of the late John Paul and Lois Pauline Swartz McAllister. On Dec. 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jo Ryan, who preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Glen McAllister, and one sister, Sandra McAllister Beard.
Michael W. Muncy
Michael W. Muncy, 51, of Parkersburg died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Michael was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Evansville, Ind., a son of Donald and Virginia Floyd Muncy, who reside in Evansville. Michael was a member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Evansville for 33 years. He attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., for two years. From Wabash College, he transferred to Purdue University in West Lafayette, where he graduated in 1977 with a degree in chemistry. At Purdue, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Pai Indiana Delta Chapter. Michael was a process engineer at Century Aluminum in Ravenswood and formerly worked at Ormet and Kaiser. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed boating and water sports.

Robert Shepherd
Robert "Bob" Lee Shepherd, 80, of Sandyville, W.Va., departed this life peacefully at home after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1925, to the late W.H. "Ted" and Georgie (Boice) Shepherd at their home on Trace Fork Road in Sandyville.

Katherine L. Wolfe
Katherine Lee "Katie" Wolfe, 23, of Spencer, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at home.
She was born Oct. 6, 1982, in Charleston, W.Va., a daughter of Jeanette Raines Atkinson of Reedy, W.Va., and the late Charles L. Wolfe. She was a 2001 graduate of Roane County High School and a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church and the Peoples Baptist Church. She was a member of the Pittsburgh and Akron Chapters of the Lupus Foundation of America and was a 4-H camp counselor and an advisor to the Cardinal 4-H Club.

Delores J. Borman
Delores June Borman, 68, of Fourth Street, Belpre died 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, in St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1937, in Marietta to George and Louise Robinson. She had been a licensed practical nurse at Marietta Memorial Hospital and was a very caring person with her time and labors. She was a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church.

Larry Joe Falls, 36, of Reedy, W.Va., died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division.
Alfred H. Huffman
Alfred Hatfield Huffman, 92, of Parkersburg died Dec. 6, 2005, at the Arbors of Marietta.
He was born Dec. 7,1913, in Parkersburg, a son of the late William E. and Flora L. Roth Huffman. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1933 where he played violin in orchestra. He worked for 23 years at American Viscose as a mechanic then retired after 20 years at DuPont Washington Works as a mechanical foreman. He was a life long active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served in many different capacities, ushering, ringing the bell, helping in the office and for many years maintained the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery on Dutch Ridge Road. He was an accomplished machinist building small engines from scratch. He restored a 1924 Model T Ford Depot Hack. He also restored many small engines and antique hit and miss engines. He did many special projects for family and friends. He could make just about anything. He is survived by his daughter, Mary L. Heckman and her husband, David, of Baton Rouge, La.; five sons, James Edward and his wife, Shirley, John W. and his wife Kathy, Paul A. and his wife, Melanie, Joseph H. and his companion, Mimi Lynn, and Thomas M. and his wife, Brenda, all of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Kelly of Parkersburg, presently residing at the Inn of Marietta.

George A. Lux, 86, of Carlsbad, N.M., died Nov. 25, 2005.
He was born in Topeka, Kan., on Dec. 8, 1918, the son of the late George M. Lux and Mae Baker Lux. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter M. Lux, and a sister, Margaret Copeland.

Roxie R. Monroe, 93, of Elizabeth, W.Va., died Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 2005, at the residence of her daughter, Rose Ruble, with whom she resided.
Born in Grace Community, Roane County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Ann Davis Roberts. She was the oldest living member of Hill Grove Baptist Church and was a member of the Wirt County Farm Bureau since the late 1940's.
