Edward L. Brannon, 89, of Walker, W.Va., passed away Dec. 1, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Grafton, W.Va., a son of the late William I. and Alta Curry Brannon. Ed was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ben Bay Grotto, VFW Post 1212, American Legion Post 15 and DAV Chapter 6.

Adele M. Frazier, 76, of Ravenswood died Dec. 2, 2005, at her residence after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Belvidere, N.J., a daughter of the late John and Ruth Stout of New Jersey. She was retired from Hill-Top Beauty Shop, which she owned.
Denzil L. Prather
Denzil L. Prather, 84, of Belpre passed away Dec. 2, 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Elizabeth, W.Va., on March 18, 1921, a son of the late Hugh and Deborah Lewis Prather. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1938. He attended Potomac State College from 1938 until 1940. He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He served with the 801st/492nd Bombardment Group (known as the "Carpetbaggers") of the 8th Air Force. He completed 30 missions, flying Consolidated B24 Liberators. He attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. While in the service, he received numerous decorations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars and the Air Medal with three Oak Clusters. The 801st/492nd Bombardment Group was issued the Croix de Guerre from the French government. He served in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe and Normandy.

Lawrence Woodrow Wigal, 91, of Parkersburg passed away Dec. 2, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1914, at Wadesville, a son of the late Samuel Floyd and Ida Pearl Sellers Wigal. Lawrence was a longtime member of Serepta Baptist Church. He retired from Parkersburg Lumber Co. with 10 years of service. He was employed at Kiekheffer Container Co. for 20 years. After his retirement, he was employed as an assistant at Kimes Funeral Home for 20 years.

He was born April 9, 1954, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Junior and Joan Reger Hoschar. James was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Parkersburg.

William H. "Bill" Locke, 90, of St. Marys died Dec. 1, 2005, at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1915, in St. Marys, a son of the late Howard and Anna Core Locke. He was a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church in St. Marys. He had attended Washington Jefferson College in Washington, Pa., and he was retired from the former Quaker State Oil Refinery of St. Marys. He had 45 years service retiring as personnel manager. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1701; a member of VFW Post 222 in St. Marys; and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Parkersburg. He was an avid golfer.

Jeremy Lee Place, 26, of Earl Place Road, Cutler died 6:44 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Grant Medical Center, as a result of an auto accident.
He was born Sept. 17, 1979, in Marietta to Sonny L. Place and Becky J. Gaughan. He was a 1998 graduate of Fort Frye High School. He had been a cabinet maker, working for Bill Lucas and Sons Builders in Lubeck, W.Va. He was Catholic by faith. Jeremy enjoyed fishing, frog gigging, loved four-wheeling and his music.

Jack L. Reed, 73, died Dec. 1, 2005.
He was born in Parkersburg to Sylvia and Howard Reed. Jack spent most of his life in Pittsburgh, Fairlawn, and the last 28 years in Bath. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and retired from the Eaton Corporation. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and most importantly golfing. He was a member of Silver Lake Country Club. Jack was also a Fairlawn Councilman for eight years in the 60's, a past president of Fairlawn Kiwanis, and a past president of Ft. Island Swim Club.

Mr. Ryan was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the beloved husband of Joann (nee Berke); loving father of Mary Marlotti (Dan), Michael (Lori), James (Terry), Peggy Walsh and Marty (Kris); beloved grandfather of Jessica (Jason) and Doug Marlotti, Nick, Michele and Denise Roth, Brynn, Michael, Hannah, Meaghan, Benjamin, Katie, Joseph, Kelsie and Molly Ryan and Patrick Walsh; brother of Kay Kelley (Bill), Patrick (Eileen) and Joanne Northelm (Bob).
