Okey Lee Cottrell
Okey Lee Cottrell, 82, of Ivydale, passed into rest November 24, 2004 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born at Oka, he was a son of the late John and Glenna McGlaughlin Cottrell. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was the Pastor of the Mud Fork Union Church near Chloe where he had served for 15 years. He had also pastored the Rush Fork Community Church and Groves Creek Community Church as well as many other area churches.
Surviving are his wife Alma Nellie Truman Cottrell and 3 daughters, Lois Cummings of Chloe, Kay Coleman of Ivydale, Terri Funk and her husband Danny of Ivydale. 4 sons, Lewis Cottrell and his wife Linda of Nebo, Roy Cottrell and his wife JoAnn of Martinsburg, WV, Randy Cottrell and his wife Marshia and Ronnie Cottrell and his wife Betty all of Clay. One sister, Dorma (Toots) Mollohan of Servia. 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 PM at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Rev. Darius Arnold officiated. Interment was in the Coen Cemetery at Nebo.

Kerry Ray Facemire
Kerry Ray Facemire, 38, of Stanley, Virginia, died Saturday November 13, 2004, University of Virginia.
He was born December 19, 1965 in Lorain, Ohio, to Jerry Don Facemire and Linda Lou. He was Manager for Winchester Homes Customer Service Dept., a member of The Harley’s Owner Group, and was married to Victoria Rose Byington on May 21, 1988.
Surviving are wife; Victoria Rose “Digit” (Byington) Facemire of Stanley, VA, mother; Linda (Long) Kimble of Sutton, West Virginia, father; Jerry Don Facemire of Ohio, step father; Alvie “Joe” Kimble of Sutton, West Virginia, brother; Tim Facemire of Sutton, West Virginia, sister; Chrissy Iliff of Findlay, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dakota Ray Facemire.
Services were held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Bradley Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Glenn E. Clements officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Page County Animal Shelter.
Charles Fletcher Wilson
Charles Fletcher Wilson, 68, of Strange Creek, died Friday, November 26, 2004, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness.
He was born in Charleston on June 20, 1936, a son of the late Vernon Wilson and Delphia Given Wilson. He was a retired coal miner for Peerless Eagle Coal Company.
In addition to his parents, Fletcher was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving is his wife, Kathryn Kitzmiller Wilson; sons, Charles W. Wilson of Woodbridge, Va., and Sam Wilson and wife, Wilma, of Summersville, W.Va.; sisters, Pearl Warner of Lodi, Ohio, Betty Bagley of Medina, Ohio, and Lori Ellis of Parkersburg, W.Va.; brother, Lanty Wilson of Medina, Ohio; and grandchildren, Tim Wilson of Birch River, W.Va., and Cassandra Wilson of Canton, Ohio. Funeral service were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 29, at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Strange Creek, W.Va. Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home at Flatwoods, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Gray Green
Mary Gray Green, 89, of Sutton, West Virginia, died December 25, 2004, in the Braxton Health Care Center, Sutton. She was born on April 18, 1915, in Braxton County, the daughter of the late Benijah F. and Fanny Blanch Chancey Ramsey. She was a Baptist by Faith. She and her late husband, Denver Green, were former owners and operators of the Green & Welch Family Restaurant in Sutton, for more than 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Bernard Green, Who died July 1, 1975; two daughters, Ellen Campbell and Eloise VanRiper, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Ann Sigman of Sutton, WV; and three grandchildren Beverly VanRiper, Barry VanRiper and Brandon Esker. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 1:00 PM at the Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, with Minister Paul Frame officiating . Burial was in the Skidmore Cemetery, Sutton. Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, was in charge of the arrangements.
Darrius James Nottingham Sr.
Darrius James Nottingham Sr., 71, of Duck, went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2004 after a long illness.
He was born February 4, 1933 at Strange Creek, West Virginia, a son of the late Dae and Mamie Gravier Nottingham and was raised on Horse Ridge. He moved to California in 1964 and was a cross country truck driver. After retiring he moved back to Duck, West Virginia. in 1995.
He is survived by daughters, Shonnie Phipps of Towson, MD, Vickie Burnette of chesterfield, VA, Diana Nottingham of Duck, WV and Lisa Nottingham of San Pedro, CA; sons, Steve Nottingham of Cleveland, OH, Darrius J. Nottingham Jr. of Homossa, FL and Roger Nottingham of Chino, CA; brothers, Holly Nottingham of Frametown,WV, Darrell Nottingham of Duck, WV, Lanty Nottingham of Temperance, MI, Gale Nottingham of Strange Creek, WV, Delmas Nottingham of Gassaway, Mike Nottingham of Frametown, WV and Gary Nottingham of Duck, WV; sisters, Susan Botkins of Bryan, OH and Jeannie Dawson of Duck, WV; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews and many many friends.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Monna Sue Nottingham; son, Denny Nottingham; brothers, Clarence Nottingham and Carl Nottingham.
Services were held at 11 am, Tuesday, December 28 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Damon Wilkewitz officiating. Burial was in the Nottingham Family Cemetery, Villanova on Horse Ridge.
Gary Robert White
Gary Robert White, 53, of Culloden, West Virginia, died December 25, 2004 at CAMC Memorial Division.
He was born January 19, 1951 at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Dennis Davis and Joanna White.
He was the manager of Hecks and Family Dollar Stores both in Gassaway; he was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Gassaway Baptist Church.
Surviving; wife Beverly Reed White; sons, Jerid, stationed in Germany, Darin of Maryland; daughter, Angie White Bailey and husband, Chuck of Milton; grandchildren, Tabitha and Sabrina both of Maryland; brothers, Dale Davis of Ashland, Kentucky, Dana White of Elkins and Junior Davis of Elkins; sisters, Brusanna Jackson of Charleston, Paula Bowers of Elkins, Rosalie McPherson of Princeton; 7 nieces and 1 nephew.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brother, Leon Davis.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 at the Gassaway Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Stump officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Memorial Park, Milton.

Elsie M. Douglas Moats, 90, of Heaters, West Virginia, died Thursday, January 27, 2005, at the Braxton County Health Care Center at Sutton, West Virginia.
She was born November 7, 1914, at Heaters, a daughter of the late John L. Prince & Alice Brown Prince. She was also preceded in death by her 1st husband Calvin Douglas in 1949 and 2nd husband Walter W. Moats in 1995, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 grandson & 1 granddaughter. Elsie was a homemaker, a Christian and a member of the Heaters United Methodist Church.
Surviving; daughter; Charlotte Beane of Gassaway, West Virginia , sons; John Douglas and wife Autha of Newville, West Virginia, Marlon Moats and wife Renell of Sutton, West Virginia and Roger Moats and wife Cindy of Spencer, West Virginia. Sister; Sara Davis of Pittsburg, PA.

Madeline A. Riffle, 81, of Charleston, West Virginia, formerly of Braxton County, died Thursday, January 27, 2005, at CAMC - General Division at Charleston, West Virginia after a long illness.
She was born October 25, 1923, at Clarksburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Olen S. and Mary Boram Marsh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Omar Riffle, Son Darrell Riffle, brother Darrell Marsh, grandson George Miller II, and 3 great grandchildren.
Surviving; daughters: Mary Riffle of Clendenin, West Virginia, Rosemary Wyne & husband Bobby of Little Birch, West Virginia, Retha Miller & husband Gary, Sarah Shaffer & husband Alfred all of Exchange, West Virginia. Son; Olen Riffle & wife Barbara of Gassaway, West Virginia. Sisters; Wilma flowers of Warren, Ohio and Charlotte Lewis of Weston, West Virginia. Brothers; Ralph & Glen Marsh both of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Marvin Marsh of Mt. Clair. 22 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Geraldine R. Belknap
Geraldine R. Belknap, 83, of Clay, West Virginia died January 27, 2005 in Braxton Health Care Center, Sutton, West Virginia following an extended illness. She was born March 26, 1921 in Braxton County, West Virginia the daughter of the late Ralph “Boy” Hosey and Vera Ann Johnson Jarvis.
She was a homemaker and a granny to everyone.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, William Dale Belknap; 2 brothers Tommy Lee and Puzz Hosey; and 1 sister Shirley.
She is survived by her daughter Bennilee Welch of Summersville, West Virginia; four brothers Herold, Ike, & Luther Hosey all of Webster Springs, West Virginia; and Ralph Hosey of Ohio; four sisters Kathleen Eubank of Stow, OH, Gay E. Egger of Riverside, CA, Ruth Betes of Las Vegas, NV, and Becky Dautista of Corona, CA; four grandchildren William, Donnie, Ronnie, & Travis Welch; and 3 great granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 30, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, West Virginia with Pastor Darrell Mollohan officiating. Burial was in the Cogar Cemetery, Guardian, West Virginia.
Dollie Catherine Slaughter
Dollie Catherine Slaughter, 85, of Gassaway, died January 26, 2005, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse: a member of the Central Rebekah Lodge # 171; and a Protestant.
She is survived by daughter, Louise Mollohan and husband, Ira of Gassaway; sons, William Martin Slaughter Jr, and wife, Marilyn, of Miramar, FL, Walter Steven Slaughter and wife, Judy of Jessup, MD, Freddie Lee Slaughter and wife, Brenda of Gassaway; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Martin Slaughter and two granddaughters, Cathy and Patricia Mollohan.
Services were held Saturday, January 29 at the Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Rev. Larry Conrad officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
Velma Gray Mick
Velma Gray Mick, 77, of Ireland, West Virginia, died Monday, January 24. 2005 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston. She was born September 27, 1927 at Falls Mill, West Virginia. Mrs. Mick was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mick was preceded in death by her parents Cecil Clyde and Carrie Edith Lowther Teter and husband, Lenard S. Mick.
Surviving are 4 brothers; Dana Teter and wife Fonda “Polly” of Ireland, whom Gray made her home with. Arlis C. Teter of Statesville, NC, Willy H. Teter and wife Melva of Walkersville, West Virginia, Dennis Teter and wife Wilma of Berlin Road, Weston, West Virginia. 3 sisters; Thelma Zerr of Sedona, AZ, Freda Dennison, Akron, OH, Anna L. Ellis and husband Marlin of Aurora, OH. Several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Alkire Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am, Friday, January 28, 2005. Rev. Lonnie Ramsey officiated the service. Interment followed at Bosley Cemetery at Falls Mill.

Brandon Lynn Case
Brandon Lynn Case, 32, passed away on January 25, 2005 at home in San Antonio, Texas after a long fight with cancer. He was born September 13,
1972. Brandon spent most of his life in Texas. He lived in West Virginia for a short time attending Braxton County schools. Brandon was the son of Jerry Case, Smithville, Texas and Donna Case, San Antonio.
Brandon is survived by brothers Chance of San Antonio and Jerry Ray of
Phoenix, Arizona, sisters Patricia Case, Sarita Case-McIntyre and Shannon Case of Austin and numerous cousins in Alaska, West Virginia and Ohio.
Burial was Friday in San Antonio.

Dakota Reed, 4, of Cary, NC, died January 27, 2005 at home.
He is survived by mother, Rebecca S. Reed of Cary, NC; father, Shawn Leonard of Clayton, NC; brothers, Dustin Reed of Cary, NC, Cody Reed at home; maternal grandparents, Louise Boone of Sutton, Sam Reed of Frametown; paternal grandparents, Darlene Coker of Morehead City, NC, Les Leonard of Florida.

Oleta Christina (Post) Singleton
Oleta Christina (Post) Singleton, 96, of Stouts Mills, departed this life on March 17, 2005. She was the daughter of Austin Ambrose and Myrtle Maude (Rennie) Post. She was born in a log cabin on Dusk Camp March 13, 1909. She married Carris Singleton, September 12, 1931. Sharing their lives for 67 years. Carris preceded her in death January 25, 1998. They were married at Bulltown, West Virginia in the middle of the road in a Model T Ford. Surviving family: Leragene (Singleton) Jesse and Gene, of Zanesville, Ohio, Rennie (Singleton) Johnson and Eldon, of Buckhannon, WV. Two grandchildren, Robin Ann (Jesse) Hagedorn of South Borough, Ma. and David Michael Johnson of Elizabethtown, Pa. Four Great grandchildren,
David Charles Hagedorn and Kati Ann Hagedorn of South Borough, Ma., Joshua Carris Johnson and Joel Michael Johnson of Elizabethtown, Pa. She was a Methodist by faith and for several years attended the Sand Fork Church of God. Oleta did many things in her life time, as a 4-H leader and involved in the community and church. She resided in Weston for several years and worked at the Old Weston State Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of the Professional Womens Society and belonged to the Baldwin CES. In 2000 she was chosen to be the Bell of Gilmer County and attended the Folk Festival in Glenville every year there after. This was a great honor, she enjoyed it so very much. Oleta wrote poetry for years hand written on note book paper. At age 90 in the year of 1999 she had many of the poems made into a book, ”Memories Of Yesteryear”.
She remembered stories told her by her Grandfather Charles Post when he was a young boy and serving on the grand old ship the USS Constitution, “Old Iron Side”, it is still docked in Boston Harbor. She never in her life time ever dreamed she would see that ship. But in 2001 when visiting her granddaughter in Massachusetts she was invited to go on the ship for the ride down the harbor. This was so exciting for her, a never ending volume of stories. She was a house wife, care giver, loved gardening, loved to hunt, ride horses and go on long trips. She did many enjoyable things in life and was in return a joy to all who knew her. She lived a very busy and useful life and now joined Carris in Heaven.
George “Dewey” Lake
George “Dewey” Lake, 67, of Napier, WV, died March 22, 2005, at home after a short illness.
He was born February 18, 1938, at Napier, the son of the late Lanta N. Lake & Ethel Ellen Dean Lake. Also preceding him in death were 4 brothers. Dewey was retired from the Ford Motor Company, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club & member and past Governor of the Sutton Moose Lodge #825.

Mary Gladys Nuzum Beane
Mary Gladys Nuzum Beane went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2005, after an extended illness. Mrs. Beane was a resident of the Braxton County Health Care Center in Flatwoods, West Virginia. Born on June 12, 1913, in O’Brion (Clay County) West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lazarus and Ada Belle Tucker Nuzum. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gassaway where she served as deacon and elder. Along with her husband, Price, she was the owner and operator of Beane’s Market in Gassaway. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Braxton County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was the 1996 recipient of the “Mary Stewart Award” in the GFWC-Gassaway Chapter and served as Historian for manyterms. Mrs. Beane is survived by her three sons: John E. Beane, M.D. and wife. Kathy of Parkersburg; Sterling P. Beane, Sr. and wife, Judy of Gassaway and F. Stephen Beane of Gassaway; one granddaughter, Kathryn “Katy” S. Beane of Parkersburg, four grandsons; J.D. Beane, and Brenda of Parkersburg, David J. Beane, M.D. and wife, Carrie of Vienna; Michael E. Beane, M.D. of Vienna; and Sterling P. Beane, Jr. and wife, Monica of Gassaway; and one great grandson, Sterling “Price” Beane, III of Gassaway.
Mrs Beane was preceded in death by her husband, Price F. Beane in 1975; two brothers: Charles Nuzum and Sanford Nuzum; four sisters: Thelma Frame, Ruth Hawkins, Ruby “Billie: Carr, and Mildred Nuzum: and on infant granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Beane, all of Braxton County.
Services were held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Gassaway. Interment followed at Beall’s Mill Cemetery, Gassaway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Braxton County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 100 Hoylman Drive, Gassaway, WV 26624 or to the charity of your choice.
Carlin Richard Belknap
Carlin Richard Belknap, 67, of Exchange, West Virginia, died March 19, 2005. He was a farmer and a Methodist.
He was born March 3, 1938 a son of the late Donnie and Juanita Rockhold Belknap.
He is survived by brothers, Donnie of New Concord, OH, Wendell of Malvern, OH, Frank and Russell both of Gassaway, West Virginia, Wes and Wade both of Exchange, West Virginia, Denver of Canton, OH; sisters, Mary Norman, Vera Norman and Kathy Hall all of Zanesville, OH and Wilma Belknap of Exchange, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Rev. Larry Conrad officiating. Burial wan in the Hosey Cemetery, Trace Run.
Darius R. Hall
Darius R. Hall passed away peacefully on March 14, 2005, surrounded by family and love ones at the age of 91. One of 7 children, "D.R" was born August 13, 1913 in West Virginia. He lived a very long, eventful life encircled by cherished family and friends, all of whom were touched in some large or small way by his kindness. He was the life of the party and always said, "I never met a stranger I didn't like." He enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and harmonica. He also enjoyed working in his yard, planting flowers, and boasted about having the greenest yard on the block. He moved to Arizona in 1962 where he successfully owned and operated Accurate Line Striping Co. for over 16 years. He returned to West Virginia in 1988 after the death of his wife of 31 years Evalene; and continued to visit family and friends in Phoenix often. Darrius is survived by his wife, Eileen; his children Mary Melluzzo, Jeffrey Hall, Judy Seymour, Melissa Born, Marshall Hall and Sharon Heckler; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday March 21, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona. Mattie P. Tingler Fisher
Mattie P. Tingler Fisher, 95, of Birch River died March 24, 2005 at the home of her son Gail Fisher following a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1909 in Braxton County, West Virginia the daughter of the late John and Texie Simmons Tingler.
She was a member of the Polemic Run Baptist Church, a devoted mother, and a homemaker. She loved to garden and quilt.
Also preceding her in death were her husband Jake Fisher who died November 8, 1991; one son James Joseph Fisher; one daughter Ann Hill; five brothers Sherman, Okey, Billy, Argil and Delbert; and four sisters Ida, Flossie, Gay and Grace; and one deceased great grandchild.
She is survived by 4 sons Jerry Fisher & wife Wanda, Bobby Fisher, Ben Fisher and wife Angela, Gail Fisher & wife Bertha all of Birch River; and 2 daughters Linda Kay Brown & husband Joe of Grafton, OH and Beverly Fisher of Birch River. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, West Virginia with Rev. Marvin Hickson officiating. Burial was in the Cox Cemetery at Birch River, West Virginia.

Dale L. Leavitt, Jr. born September 23, 1946, in Sutton, West Virginia to parents, Dale Lowery Leavitt, both deceased. He died March 21, 2005 in Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife Hazel and 2 daughters, Dawn of Cairo, Egypt and Amy of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Kenzy Youssef; brothers Steve of Comming, GA and Gregg of Effingham S.C.; his sister Carol Rohletter of Charlotte, N.C.; his stepsister Helga Hallet of Charleston, West Virginia; and stepmother Jerry Leavitt of Sutton, West Virginia.
University Alumni and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. As a Petroleum Engineer he worked for Sullivan Company of Tulsa. OK.

Carl “Cap” Bosely, 87, of Flatwoods, West Virginia, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born July 30, 1917 at Gregory, West Virginia, a son of the late Walter Scott Bosely & Maggie Robison Bosely. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Lucile Peck and his wife Laura Bosely. He was a WW II Army Veteran with the 82nd Airbourne, a retired employee of Kenton Meadows Co., a farmer, attended the Mt. Stella Williams Bright
Stella Williams Bright, 70, of Temple Terrace, Florida, formerly of Sutton, West Virginia died at University Community Hospital in Tampa, FL, after a short illness.
She was born June 30, 1934, at Spencer, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Porter Williams & Arthelia Mace Williams. Stella was also preceded in death by her husband Van Bright in 1997 and was a Methodist and homemaker.
Surviving; daughter; Connie Sims of Temple Terrace, FL, sisters; Dianna Neal of Houston, Texas, Joanne Peterson of Oak Hill, West Virginia, brothers; Robert Williams of El Paso, Texas, Maurice Williams of Dover, Ohio & David Williams & James Williams both of Spencer, West Virginia, granddaughters; Rachel & Leah Sims Lutz, great grandchildren; Ashley Linville & Dakota Gale, stepdaughters; Beth Barker of Sutton, West Virginia, Ginny Anderson of Flatwoods, West Virginia, Clarence Bright of Sutton, West Virginia and Richard “Dickie” Bright of Flatwoods, West Virginia.
Funeral services were held 1 pm Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home with Rev. John McQuain officiating. Burial followed in the Kniceley Cemetery at Sutton, West Virginia.
Gidd Singleton
Gidd Singleton, 89, of Rock Cave, West Virginia, died March 26, 2005, in the St. Joseph’s Hospital at Buckhannon, West Virginia, after a long illness.
He was born July 19, 1915, at Gem, West Virginia, a son of the late Charlie Ellis Singleton & Minnie Pulliam Singleton. He was also preceded in death by 3 wives, sisters Maude Singleton, Addie “Shorty” Brown, Patty Singleton & Gladys Whaley, brothers Walter & Joe Singleton. Gidd was a construction worker and former owner of the Burnsville Diner.
Surviving; caregiver, Ruth Criss of Rock Cave, West Virginia, sons; Stephan Page Singleton & wife Kim of Clarksburg, West Virginia & Charles Singleton, address unknown, daughter; Betty James of Gassaway, West Virginia, sisters; Maggie Williams of Heaters, West Virginia, Ruby Vernon of Baltimore, MD & Peggy Bear of FL., sister-in-law; Lucille Singleton, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Tuesday, march 29 , 2005, at the Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home with Rev. Delmas Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 till 8 pm, Monday at the Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home at Flatwoods, WV.
Junior O. “Paddlefoot” Flint
Junior O.“Paddlefoot” Flint, 81 of Sutton, West Virginia died June 7, 2005 in Summersville Memorial Hospital, Summersville, West Virginia following a long illness.
He was born December 4, 1923 in Braxton County, West Virginia the son of the late Orville I. And Clarice B. Facemire Flint. Also preceding him in death were his wife Mildred Flint, one son Delmous Junior Flint, 2 brothers Robert and Hobert Flint and one sister Moletta Burton.
He was a Deacon and member of the Zion Pentecostal Church of God, Sutton, West Virginia, and a coal miner for 41 years and a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by 2 daughters Phyllis Ann Propst and husband Tom and Linda Kay Hoard and husband Harold all of Sutton; 3 brothers Jackie Flint and wife Barbara, Steve Flint and wife Flora and Lewis Flint all of Sutton; 2 sisters Helen Moore & husband John of Tesla, West Virginia and Eloise Woodall of Medina, OH; and 2 grandchildren David Propst and Harold Hoard.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, West Virginia with Rev. Paul Lusk and Rev. Tom Propst officiating. Burial was in the Braxton County Cemetery near Sutton, West Virginia.

Connie Ann Cook
Connie Ann Cook, 55, of Birch River, West Virginia died June 6, 2005 in CAMC-Memorial Division, Charleston, West Virginia following a short illness. She was born March 31, 1950 in Clay County, West Virginia the daughter of Dorothy Nelson Keener and the late Dorien “Floppy Keener.
She was a Baptist, owner of Cook Distributing of Birch River, West Virginia and former owner of The Flower Patch in Sutton, West Virginia for several years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and time spent with her pet raccoon, Crockett.
She is survived by her husband Steve M. Cook of Birch River, West Virginia, 3 sons, Donnie Gray of Greenville, SC, Brian Gray of Clay, WV and Steven Cook of Dille, West Virginia, 2 daughters Christina Gray of Clay, West Virginia and Stefani M. Adkins of Centreville, VA; 2 brothers Harold and David Keener, both of Clay, West Virginia and one sister Bonnie Jarrett of Clay, West Virginia. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, West Virginia with Rec. Charles Cook officiating. Burial was in the Birch River Cemetery, Birch River, West Virginia.
