HEATERS -- Van F. Hall, 99, of Heaters, Braxton County, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in Reka Kniceley's Personal Care Home, Flatwoods, after a long illness.
He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War I, a member of Mount Harmony United Methodist Church, Heaters, Flatwoods-Heaters Lions Club and the Braxton County Farm Bureau. He was a graduate of Sutton High School.

Ronald L. Hissom, 65, of Charleston died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital.
He was a retired police officer with the city of Charleston Police Department, having been named 1965 Policeman of the Year. He was an Army veteran, serving in the military police, former secretary-treasurer of the West Virginia State Lodge of Fraternal Order of Police, was a member of Capitol City FOP Lodge 74, Charleston Elks Lodge 202, Charleston Moose Lodge 1444 and Charleston Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She was a graduate of Stoco High School, Lego, and Dr. Brown's Clinical Laboratory, Columbus, Ohio. She received her X-ray technical training from Raleigh General Hospital, was certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians, and was a retired supervisory diagnostic radiologic technician from Beckley Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians, American Society of Radiologic Technicians and the West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technicians.

He was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School and Marshall University and received his Ph.D. in chemistry from West Virginia University. He was a former employee of DuPont Corp., Bendix Corp., Allied Signal and was professor of bio-engineering for the University of Washington. He was director of microsensor research at the Washington Technology Center and owned his own research and development firm, Patton Technologies Inc., Bothell. He was a Christian.
