ROMNEY -- William F. "Bill" Cline, 97, of Romney died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., after a long illness.
He was a graduate of Glenville State College, received a master's degree from Ohio University, and was a retired teacher, having taught in Wirt, Wood and Kanawha counties in West Virginia, and Prince Georges County, Md. He was a former assistant superintendent of Wood County schools and former head of the vocational education department at Stonewall Jackson High School, Charleston. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Romney, and former president of the South Charleston Lions Club.

He was a retired supervisor from the Celanese Corp., a member of Masonic Lodge 134, Princeton, Elks Lodge 1459, Princeton, Moose Lodge 1521, Princeton, and Princeton Presbyterian Church and was a Navy chief petty officer during World War II.
