Clarence A. Taylor, 75, of Charleston died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at home after a long illness.
He was an auto mechanic and an Army/Air Force veteran of World War II, serving with the Flying Tigers, and was a lifelong resident of Charleston.

She was a graduate of Shady Spring High School and Raleigh General School of Nursing, Beckley, was former assistant director of nurses at Raleigh General Hospital, a former nurse for doctors L.E. Shrewsbury and E.B. Wray, a retired instructor from the Raleigh County Vocational Nursing Assistant Program, a member of White Sulphur Springs Women's Club, Senior Friends and the Raleigh General Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.
Surviving: daughters, Georgina Daniel Ryon of White Sulphur Springs, Charlene Mannix Bunts of Atlanta; half sister, Mabel Boley Richardson of Shady Spring; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.

He was a retired coal miner from the Lillybrook Coal Company with 50 years service. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, Alderson, UMWA Local 1335, Rainelle, W.Va., Alderson Masonic Lodge 70 AF and AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hopkins Galloway
