MADISON, Ind. -- William E. "Bill" Vest Sr., 77, of Madison died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in Suburban Hospital, Louisville, Ky.
He was a graduate of St. Albans (W.Va.) High School, a former employee of Appalachian Electric Co., a retired shift engineer from JKE, Madison, with 30 years of service, a veteran of World War II and a member of Elks Lodge, Lions Club, American Legion, Madison Music Club and North United Methodist Church.

He was retired owner/operator of the Lory Planing Mill, Charleston, a member of Mount Tabor Methodist Church, Pinch and former chief of Pinch Volunteer Fire Department from 1966-75.

She was a schoolteacher in Kanawha City public schools, and taught at Charleston (W.Va.) High School and Thomas Jefferson Junior High School. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime resident of Florida.

Dejuan C. McKinnie
Dejuan Curtis McKinnie, 27, of St. Albans died Jan. 6, 1998, in General Division, CAMC, from gunshot wounds during an alleged robbery attempt in a downtown Charleston hotel parking lot.
Kenneth A. Poe, 57, told police McKinnie tried to rob him at gunpoint in the Elk River Town Center Inn parking lot on Tuesday night. Poe told police he struggled with McKinnie, wrested his gun away and shot him.
McKinnie was a native of Detroit, a cook for Suzi's Hamburgers, and a member of Rimson Memorial Church of God in Christ, Charleston.
