Mary Louise Graley, 77, of Nitro died Dec. 19, 1997, in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a long illness.
She was a cook employed by various local restaurants, having last worked at Bonanza, St. Albans. She was a native of Boone County.

DELTONA, Fla. -- Clifford R. Grinstead, 75, of Deltona, formerly of Hurricane, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 1997, in Volusia Medical Center, Orange City.
He was a retired shipping clerk from Union Carbide, South Charleston, W.Va., member of Church of God, Hurricane, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Edwin M. Gross, 92, of Charleston died Dec. 18, 1997, in Valley Health Village.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a POW in Germany. He was retired from O.J. Morrison Department Store.

Sanders "Sandy" Levine, 71, of Charleston died Dec. 19, 1997, at home after a long illness.
He was a member of B'nai Jacob Synagogue, co-owner of M&W Wholesalers, founder of Sandy Express and Sandy Distributing, and was a former employee of Prieser Scientific. He was a graduate of West Virginia University, attended the University of Virginia, Emory and Henry University, and was a member of Phi Delta Sigma Fraternity. He was a Navy veteran, a board member for B'nai Jacob Synagogue, and a member of the Charleston Rotary Club.
Surviving: wife Lillian Levine; sons, Robert of Springfield, Va., Kenneth of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter, Linda Brown of Amherst, Mass.; sister, Mickey Westrich of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren.

John B. Martin
John B. Martin, 79, of Charleston, formerly of Fort Myers, Fla., died Dec. 17, 1997, after a long illness.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was on active duty with the Selective Service System. He was acting Chief of Benefits for the state Department of Employment Security, supervisor of armories for the state Armory Board, former president of the Army-Navy Club, and was post commander of the American Legion. He was a member of VFW, West Virginia National Guard Association, former president of Charleston Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Exchange Club, Charleston. He attended Potomac State College and Morris Harvey College, and graduated from West Virginia University.
Surviving: son, John B. Martin Jr. of Miami.

She was a retired merchant and owner/operator of a grocery store in Tornado for 22 years. She was a 46-year resident of Tornado.

He was retired from the United Mine Workers, International Union in Washington, D.C. He was a former employee of Carbon Fuel Co. and the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C., a graduate of Washington High School and attended Morris Harvey College. He was a member of the Levi First Missionary Baptist church where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II and former member of the Selective Service Appeals Board.
