She was a retired seamstress formerly employed with Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a member of Accoville Methodist Church, where she was member and former president of Accoville United Methodist Women. She was a member of Man Appalachian Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the United Steelworkers of America Local 14617.

Plumley died after being shot in a bar fight, said a spokesman for the Mason County Sheriff's Department.
He was a deckhand for Kanawha River Towing, attended Church of Christ, Glenwood, and was a member of Brothers of the Wheel, Mason County Chapter.

He was a native of Woodward, Okla., and was a 40-year resident of Charleston. He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration and was a retired cattle farmer in Jackson County. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, and attended Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar. He was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion and the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industries.
