SETH - Brenda Kay Sebok, 40, of Seth died Nov. 3, 2002, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after an apparent heart attack.
She was born June 22, 1962, in Indiana, a daughter of the late Claude Gene and Marie Adkins Sheets.
She was a Baptist and was an employee of Knights Inn, Charleston.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Sebok; three daughters, Shannon Marie Sheets, Claudia Jean Sheets and April Leah Sebok, all of Seth; a sister, Ruth Ann Keeney of Seth; four brothers, Jeff, Roger, Gordon and David Sheets.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Ferrell Cemetery, Joe's Creek.

James C. Wade
James C. Wade, 80, of South Charleston died Nov. 4, 2002, at home after a short illness.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation with 32 years of service. He was a member of Rock Lake Presbyterian Church, South Charleston, and the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Wills.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Reba; sons and daughters-in-law, James II and Vicki Wade of Dunedin, Fla., Steve and Drema Wade of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Wade Via and Bill Via of Charleston; five granddaughters, Debbie Meyer of Palm Harbor, Fla., Lisa Long of St. Petersburg, Fla., Amy O'Neil Cadle, Abbey Wade and Sydney Via, all of Charleston; five great-grandchildren; sister, Katy Thomas of Kingwood, Texas.
As well as family, Jim's life was blessed with many close and wonderful friendships throughout the years.

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - Morris Bias Williams, 90, of Merritt Island, Fla., passed away Nov. 1, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Williams was born May 22, 1912, at Martha, W.Va., a son of the late Arthur Boyd and Lola Vernon Bias Williams. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marybeth Smith Williams.
Mr. Williams was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Merritt Island, Beni Kedem Shrine, Charleston, W.Va., Greenbrier Commandry 15 Knights Templar, Greenbrier Masonic Lodge 42, Lewisburg, W.Va., Royal Arch Masons Chapter 21, Ronceverte, W.Va. and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Louise Clark Williams of Merritt Island; son, Morris Bennett Williams of Orange Park, Fla.; sister, Clara Belle Hemp of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Montgomery Memorial Park, London, W.Va.

Jackie "Rudy" Beamer, 65, of St. Albans passed away Nov. 6, 2002, in his sleep.
Rudy was born May 28, 1937, in Fancy Gap, Va., son of the late Rufus and Clara Beamer.
Rudy was disabled from Liquid Transport with 7 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Beamer; two stepdaughters, Melissa Johnson of South Charleston, Kim Johnson of St. Albans; one grandson, Zachery Pearson; Rudy's shelty, Lady D; brother, Ralph of Virginia; nephew Duane and Kay Carter of Dugsburg, Va., Robert Shelton of Miami, Fla.; three nieces; one additional nephew; longtime friends, Jerry Higginbotham Jr., Julian Hill, Robert Eagle, Curtis Jarrell, John, Tony and Mike.

John W. Bowles, 31, of Nitro died Nov. 8, 2002. at his residence of a sudden illness.
He was a 1989 graduate of DuPont High School. He was U.S. Marine and a Gulf War veteran.

She was born April 1, 1927, in Clendenin, daughter of the late Oscar and Nona Taylor Samples. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burley Carte; sons, Roger and Gregory; sisters, Juanita Clemmer, Garnet Cobb and Doris Sears; and brother, Arthur Samples.
She had attended West Union Methodist Church and retired from Charleston General Hospital.

Ronald W. DuBois Sr.
Ronald W. DuBois Sr., 79, of Charleston passed away suddenly Nov. 6, 2002.
Born in Punxsutawney, Pa., Ronald was a resident of Charleston for 73 years and was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School and the Mason College of Music, after which he formed the Ron DuBois Orchestra. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and served as a eucharistic minister. Ron was a glasscutter and glass inspector with Libby-Owens-Ford for 39 years and then served as manager of the Kanawha City Motor Lodge. For the past 14 years, he has been employed by the city of Charleston in the Mayor's Office of Economic and Community Development.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Rowan DuBois, who passed away June 17, 2002.; his parents, Raymond J. DuBois Sr. and Julia Nolan DuBois; and brother, Dr. Raymond J. DuBois.
Ronald is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Wilson and her husband, Richard, of Parkersburg, Carolyn DuBois of Bellfonte, Pa., Kathleen DuBois of Charleston, Elizabeth Teel and her husband, Michael, of Frederick, Md.; three sons, Ronald Jr. and his wife, Marianne, of Steubenville, Ohio, Raymond and his wife, Beth, of Craig, Colo., Brian of Charleston; and 14 grandchildren.
Also surviving Ronald are his beloved sister, Marion DuBois of Charleston; his brother, and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Georgene DuBois of Charleston; brother, Frederick of Charleston. Ronald's surviving in-laws are Edward and Madeline Rowan, Thomas Rowan, Ann Rowan Sylvester, Mary Rowan Dressman, Marjorie Rowan Ridenour and her husband, Robert, and Raymond Rowan.

NEW BERN, N.C. - Virginia Salmons Hughes, 80, of New Bern, formerly of South Charleston, W.Va., died Oct. 31, 2002, in Craven County Regional Hospital after a short illness.
She was born March 4, 1922, in Charleston, W.Va., and was preceded in death by her son, Robert D. Salmons III.
Survivors include her husband, Vito C. Hughes of New Bern; brother, Norman R. Cox of St. Albans, W.Va.; daughters, Deborah L. Ross of Charleston, Beverly A. Collins of South Charleston, Laurie J. Honaker of Lexington, N.C.; son, Jonathan R. Salmons of Liberty, S.C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Betty Jo Hylton
DANIELS - Betty Jo Hylton, 76, of Club Circle, Daniels died Nov. 6, 2002, at home following a long illness.
She was the wife of local businessman and former state senator, Tracy W. Hylton.
Born Sept. 14, 1926, in Mullens, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen Foster.
She was a graduate of Mullens High School and National Business College in Virginia. She was active in the family's business including the former Beckley Hylton Hotel, serving as vice president of WRM Inc., and Nell Jean Industries, and assisting with her husband's state senate campaign.
She contributed to the community serving on the Theatre West Virginia board of directors, and through the Christian's Women's Club, Special Olympics, West Virginia Mining Association, Women's Resource Center, Beckley Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Beta Sigman Phi sorority, Moose, Degree of Honor Lodge No. 56, Beckley, Laurel Garden Club and Beckley Women's Club.
She served on the board of directors of the Raleigh County Sheltered Workshop for students with special needs, where she was recognized with an Outstanding Community Service Award and the dedication of a classroom in her honor.
She along with her husband, was recipient of the Spirit of Beckley Award in 2000.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Tracy Warren Hylton; three sons, Robert of Beckley, Mack and wife, Teresa of Daniels, and Warren and wife, Patty of Grandview; five grandchildren, Lance, Kirsten, Morgan, TraciJo, and Adam and wife, Nichole; one great-grandson, David; a sister, Connie foster Chenoweth and husband, Gene of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; and a brother, James W. Foster of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend Margaret Daniel; two brothers-in-law, Lee Landing and Orville Hylton and wife, Joan; three sisters-in-law, Pearl Ward, Elizabeth Hylton and Carol Temple.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Beckley Prebyterian Church, 203 South Kanawha St., with the Rev. Virgil Cook officiating.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service Saturday, Nov. 9, at the church.
Private entombment will be at a later time in the family mausoleum at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Mr. Judy was born May 24, 1936, at Williamsburg, the son of the late Lake Thomas and Polly Crookshanks Judy.
He was retired from Bethleham Steel and was a salesman for Miller Auto Dealership. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and a United States Air Force veteran.

Matthew was born May 5, 1983, in Charleston, W.Va.
He was a 2002 graduate of Huntington High School and was attending Marshall University. He was listed in Who's Who Among High School Students and was a member of the JROTC. He was formerly employed by Moses Honda.

She was born Nov. 3, 1921, at Welch, McDowell County, and was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Murphy.
She was a former employee of A&P Food stores in Oak Hill, W.Va., and Cleveland, Ohio.

April Russell Nickell
GAULEY BRIDGE - April Russell Nickell of Gauley Bridge went to be with her Heavenly Father Nov. 8, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Charlotte, N.C.
Mrs. Nickell was born April 20, 1918, in Hawks Nest where she spent her childhood. She was a graduate of Gauley Bridge High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She later studied interior design through the New York School of Design.
She was preceded in death by her husband, I.B. Nickell, with whom she owned and operated Gauley Furniture Company for 50 years. During this time, She was responsible for the design of numerous businesses and residences throughout the area.
Mrs. Nickell played an active role in Gauley Bridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Star of Hope Class. Her many roles include church clerk and Sunday school teacher for many years and she was a member of the building committee and the pastoral search committee. Mrs. Nickell was a member of Gauley Bridge Garden Club where she had served as president and district director. As a businesswoman, she served on numerous area boards, including the Upper Kanawha Valley Chamber of Commerce and Montgomery National Bank where she served as its first female director.
Mrs. Nickell was a loving and devoted wife, mother and sister. During her life, her love and faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ, touched many people. She will be deeply misssed.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Bruce Craig and Deborah and Neal Fisher, all of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Erin and Catherine Craig and Caroline and Nate Fisher, all of Charlotte; three sisters, Majel Farha and Evelyn Croft, both of Gauley Bridge, Lillian Greene of New Haven; one brother, David Russell of Gauley Bridge.
