PARKERSBURG -- Edna Mae Shepard, 60, of Parkersburg died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, in Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, after a short illness.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, a former Yeoman First Class with the Navy, assistant troop leader for the Girl Scouts Black Diamond Council, Belpre, Ohio, a member of Federally Employed Women and a systems analyst with the Bureau of Public Debt.

OAK HILL -- Benedict "Ben" Teano, 80, of Oak Hill died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, from injuries received in an automobile accident, authorities said.
Teano was a retired mine supply salesman from Kenna Metal Co., Latrobe, Pa., a former mine foreman for Consolidation Coal; a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill, and the church's construction committee, former member of the Rotary, Lions and Elks Clubs, a member of the Moose Lodge, founding member and first president to the Oak Hill Swim Club, a former Scout leader and Cub master, and a former member of Oak Hill City Council.
Surviving: wife, Delora E. Camack Teano; daughter, Darleen Heagarty of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren.

Olen Pembern Summerfield, 87, of Pinch died Jan. 17, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness.
He was a longtime resident of Kanawha County, formerly of Jackson and Roane counties, and was retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford glass plant with 45 years' service. After his retirement he was a security guard at the capital and St. Francis Hospital. He was a member of Libbey-Owens-Ford Retirees Club and member of AFL/CIO. He was co-founder of Harper-Summerfield Family Reunion and was a Protestant.
