Leo Bridi
BECKLEY -- Leo Bridi, 78, of Beckley, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.
He was the senior partner in the law firm of Bridi and Bridi, Attorneys at Law, and had practiced law for 51 years. He attended Concord College and West Virginia University. He received his law degree from West Virginia University. He was a member of the state Bar Association and was past president of the Raleigh County Bar Association. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church of Beckley, Beckley Moose Lodge, American Legion and was one of the fiduciary commissioners in Raleigh County. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving: son, John Leo of Beckley; daughter, Mary Sue Bridi of Bowie, Md.; two grandchildren.
Service was to be at 11 a.m. today at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, Beckley, with the Rev. William K. Matheny Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. HARTS -- Florence G. Browning, 64, of Harts, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Logan General Hospital.
She was a housewife and a member of Freewill Baptist Church of Little Harts. She was born at Stirrat.

MILTON -- Mrs. Helen Wills Moore Burnett, 94, of Milton died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, in Forest Hill Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio, after a long illness.
She was a member of Milton Baptist Church and was a retired sales associate for Avon.

Earl F. "Fishhook" Busby, 62, of Sutton, died Jan. 2, 1998 at CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness.

Asberry Chrislip Jr.
The Rev. Asberry Chrislip Jr., 74, of Logan died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, in Logan General Hospital.
He was a retired petty officer with the U.S. Navy and served in the Phillipines in World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He was a retired educator and principal of Logan Central and Man Junior High schools. He as a member of Logan Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving: wife, Betty A. Henderson Chrislip; daughters, Rebecca K. Bias of Steubenville, Ohio, Connie J. Henry of Logan; sons, Jack C. and Jimi L. of Logan; sisters, Ella Swiger of Glen Bernie, Md., and Neva Stark of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Thomas E. LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. -- Bruce Corey, 48, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997.
He was a graduate of Charleston High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he received a degree in graphic arts. He was a musician and chef. He completed his culinary education at The Greenbrier hotel in White Sulphur Springs. He was employeed as a chef in New Orleans and in Memphis, Tenn.
Surviving: wife, Kathryn "Kayce" Corey of Lawrenceburg; mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Tapping Corey of Charleston, W.Va.; brother, Ross Corey of St. Albans, W.Va.
The body was cremated. The family will have a private memorial service Sunday in Charleston and will meet with family and friends afterward. The family suggests donations be sent to the Salvation Army.

GERMANTOWN, Md. -- Melissa Leigh Darling, 32, of Germantown, formerly of Logan, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Richlands Memorial Hospital, Columbia, S.C., after a long illness.
She was a 1983 graduate of Logan High School and a 1986 graduate of West Virginia Tech. She was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Batpist Church, Logan. She was a dental office manager.

He was an elder at the Paden City Church of Christ and preached for many years at various local congregations. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Ormet Corp. in Hannibal, Ohio, where he was a plant foreman.
