She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, attended Beckley College, where she was a tutor, was a former clerk with the West Virginia State Police Company D headquarters, Beckley, with 30 years of service and a member of First Christian Church, Beckley.
Surviving: sons, Donald F. of Lebanon, Ohio, William A. of Huntington; brother, Robert E. McKinney of Madisonville, Ky.; sisters, Alma Woods and Dorothy Young of Beckley; three grandchildren.

Florence Morrison Hughes, 91, formerly of St. Albans, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in Riverside Nursing Home, St. Albans, after a short illness.
She was a former employee of The Diamond Department Store.

Charles Junior Jividen, 72, of Nitro died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at home after a long illness.
He retired from Republic Container, Nitro, with 29 years of service, was a member of United Steel Workers, an Army veteran of World War II and attended Twin City Bible Church, Nitro.

He was a member and associate minister of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Deepwater, a member of the West Virginia Baptist Convention, West Virginia Baptist Ministers and Deacons Auxiliary, New River Missionary Baptist Association, New River Missionary Baptist Ministers and Deacons Union, Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Association, Mount Olive Ministers and Deacons Union, Upper Kanawha Valley Ministers and Deacons Fellowship, a member and past secretary of Masonic Lodge 9, a member of Order of Eastern Star 10, a retired miner, a member of the UMW and founder and president of Beards Fork Community Center.

MULBERRY, Fla. -- Rose Z. Kurtz, 77, of Mulberry died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1998, in Florida.
Her husband, Abraham N. Kurtz, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 13.
They were formerly of Charleston, W.Va. She was a former Charleston area schoolteacher and he retired from Union Carbide Tech Center, South Charleston, W.Va. They were members of the Charleston Rock and Gem Club and of area square dance and round dance clubs.
Surviving: sons, Peter of Bethesda, Md., Daniel of Boston, Mass.; sister, Beatrice Goldstein of New York, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The bodies were cremated. The family suggests memorial contributions to Brooklyn College, New York, N.Y. The Neptune Society was in charge of arrangements.

He was an Army veteran of World War II with the 36th Armored Infantry Division, a recipient of the Purple Heart, a member of Greensburg Temple Baptist Church, Sparkling Senior's Group of the church, PAR, and a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with 38 years of service.
