She was a retired Gilmer County schoolteacher with more than 23 years of service, a graduate of Glenville Normal School and Glenville State College, a former two-term Glenville city council member, a member of the Gilmer County Retired School Employees Association, a member and former Sunday school teacher of Trinity United Methodist Church, Glenville, and a member of the Junior Women's Club.
Surviving: son, Randall M. Luzader of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Marguerite Dowling of Arizona; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Stalnaker Cemetery. SMITHERS -- Michael Wayne Murphy, 46, of Smithers died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, after a long illness. He was a diabled mechanic and auto body repairman and a graduate of Montgomery High School.
Surviving: daughter, Patti Murphy of Okeechobee, Fla.; father, Everett Murphy Jr. of Charlton Heights; mother, Ethel Huffman Howe of Montgomery; brother, Timothy Murphy of Twinsburg, Ohio; sisters, Cathy Darling of Montgomery, Joy Ellen Stansberry of Fayetteville, N.C.; stepbrother, Garrett Persinger of Athens; stepsister, Sharon Persinger of New Paltz, N.Y.; one grandchild. David G. Nuzum
KEYSER -- David G. Nuzum, 86, of Keyser died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, in Arthur B. Hodges Nursing Home, Charleston. He was professor emeritus after having taught English at Potomac State College for 23 years, began his teaching career in Clarksburg and moved to Keyser in 1938 as head of the English Department at Potomac State College. He later moved into college administration and supervised student group activities. He was a graduate of Victory High School, Clarksburg, received his bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in 1932, master's degree in English in 1938 and studied at the University of Texas in Austin. He was involved in community activities including the Boy Scout program for 41 years, was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Potomac Council Boy Scouts, in 1992 was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Community Service by the Keyser Area Ministerial Association, served on the Mineral County United Way Committee, being named 1991 Outstanding Volunteer, and was a 1956 Keyser Citizen of the Year, a member of Keyser Presbyterian Church, where he taught in the men's Bible Class and as elder emeritus of the church, a member of Keyser Rotary Club and served as Past District Governor of Rotary District 735, was a Paul Harris Fellow and received the Rotary Foundation District Service Award in 1991, was a former board member and treasurer of Mineral County Chamber of Commerce, president of the board of directors of Mineral County Committee on Aging, recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Potomac State College Alumni Association in 1979, was a member of the American Field Service Adult Chapter, Mineral County Farm Bureau, Masonic Lodge 51 AF&AM, Damascus Commandery 23, Knights Templar, Upper Potomac Shrine Club, Ali-Ghan Shrine Club and Scottish Rite Bodies, Cumberland, Md., and was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Philippines.
Surviving: brother, James Robert Nuzum of Charleston; nieces, Marybeth Vallance of Huntington, Ellen June DeCristina of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Ruth Lake of South Charleston, Donna Dean of Clearwater, Fla. LANCASTER, Texas -- Russell Leon "Richard" Pritt, 46, of Lancaster, formerly of Crown Hill, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at home after an apparent heart attack. He was an Army 82nd Airborne Division veteran of the Vietnam War, a construction worker and a truck driver.

He was a retired operator from American Viscose Corp. with 35 years of service, a member of First Baptist Church, Nitro, a Navy veteran of World War II and a recipient of six Bronze Stars.

He was a heavy equipment operator, a retired surface mine foreman, a member of IUOE Local 132, an Army veteran and founder and pastor of House of Prayer Church, Gassaway.

He was a retired medical technologist for the Kanawha County Health Department, a member of Highlawn Community Chapel and a veteran of World War II.
