Hazel Case Hargrove
TAMPA, Fla. -- Hazel Case Hargrove, 86, of Tampa, formerly of Cowen, W.Va., died Dec. 5, 1997. She attended Glenville College and obtained a master's degree from the University of Maryland. She was a teacher in the Webster County School System and worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in the Beltsville Research Center, Beltsville, Md. She worked with handicapped children and helped establish the Florida State Book Depository for the Visually Handicapped. She was a member of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Metropolitan Ministries, Temple Terrace United Methodist Church and University Community Hospital.
Surviving: sister, Opal Williams; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cowen United Methodist Church, Cowen, W.Va. 26202.

Elizabeth V. Healy
CARNEY'S POINT, N.J. -- Elizabeth V. Healy, 92, of Carney's Point, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., died Jan. 1, 1998, in Memorial Hospital of Salem County after a short illness. She was a longtime resident of Salem County.
Surviving: daughters, Elizabeth H. Wildman of Powhatan, Va., Shirlet H. Hunter of Pennsville, N.J.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Eula Virginia Hill Hogsette, 97, of South Charleston died Jan. 2, 1998, in Teays Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of Wilcox Presbyterian Church.

India Marie Jennings
India Marie Jennings, 91, of Charleston died Jan. 1, 1998, after a long illness. She was a graduate of Garnet High School and Morgan State University. She was a science teacher at Boyd Junior High School and Woodrow Wilson Junior High School until her retirement in 1966. She was a jury commissioner for the U.S. District Court in Southern West Virginia, a member of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a former member of the choir, United Methodist Women, and the Circle Four. She was a member of Link's Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., and the College Alumnae Club. Survivng: adopted daughter, Eva Kaye Hawkins of St. Albans; sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas E. Jennings Jr.; nephew, Joseph Nixon of Chicago; grandnephew, Thomas E. Jennings III of Long Beach, Calif.; grandnieces, Marissa Jennings of Los Angeles, Helen Black of Chicago; one grandchild. Harry G. Johnson Sr., 82, of Nitro died Jan. 3, 1998, in General Division, CAMC, after a long illness. He was a retired butcher from Kroger's with 35 years' service and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Putnam Lodge 85; Buena Vista Encampment 80, Poca; Patriarchs Militant 140, Charleston; and Ancient Order of the IOOF Samaritans. He was past deputy grand master of District 13 IOOF and past grand master of the Grand Lodge, IOOF of West Virginia. He was a member of Forest Rose Rebekah Lodge 143, Poca.

ALDERSON -- Cecilia Ann Fowler Keadle, 55, of Alderson, formerly of St. Albans, died Jan. 2, 1998, in Columbia Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, after a short illness. She was an elementary school teacher, having taught at Ronceverte Elementary and Alderson Elementary. She was a graduate of St. Albans High School, attended Marshall University, and was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and West Virginia Professional Educators.

WHITMAN -- Alex Nelms, 83, of Whitman, Logan County, died Dec. 29, 1997, in Guyan Valley Hospital. He was a member of Whitman Church of God, former school bus driver for Logan County Board of Education, a retired miner and member of UMW.

Reed A. Petry
RAVENSWOOD -- Reed A. Petry, 70, of Ravenswood died Jan. 2, 1998, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness. He was a former miner and a truck driver.

Roy E. Price, 82, of Belle died Jan. 3, 1998, at home after a long illness. He was a retired State Farm Insurance agent with 33 years' service, a retired operator from E.I. DuPont Chemical with 31 years' service, and a member of Belle Volunteer Fire Dept., where he was the first fire chief. He was originator of Ambulance Service, EMT, and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was the Upper Kanawha Valley Representative to the National Institute of Chemical Studies.
Surviving: wife, Hazel G. Price; daughter, Jane P. Coy of DeLand, Fla.; son, Roy E. Jr. of Charleston; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. SUTTON -- Jessica Kay Brady, 16, of Sutton was found dead Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, in a ditch on Cutlip's Fork near Sutton, said a spokesman for the Sutton State Police detachment. Her body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in South Charleston to determine the cause of death. She was a Baptist and a sophomore at Braxton County High School.
