OCEANA -- Fredrick William Lokant, 79, of Oceana, Wyoming County, died Monday, March 30, 1998, in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a long illness.
He was city attorney for Oceana, a former member of Wyoming County Board of Education, a graduate of Oak Hill High School, attended West Virginia Institute of Technology and West Virginia University, a member of the West Virginia Bar Association, American Bar Association, a former worker with the Civilian Conservation Corps forestry service, an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a Protestant.
Surviving: wife, Julia Zemonek Lokant; several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Pete Lokant officiating. Entombment will be in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill.

Jeannie Lynn Loveless, 34, of St. Albans, formerly of Hurricane, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident on U.S. 35 near Winfield, said a South Charleston State Police dispatcher.
She was a Baptist.

He was a native of Silverton, W.Va., a Baptist, a former Jackson County chief deputy sheriff, a retired real estate broker and developer, and a member of Masonic Lodge 12, Scottish Rites Bodies, Charleston, W.Va., and Nemesis Shrine, Parkersburg, W.Va.
Surviving: wife, Dorothy Price McMurray; brother, Elmer McMurray of Ravenswood, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired farmer.
