David E. Cannon Jr., 69, of Charleston died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness. He retired from Union Carbide with 43 years of service, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Kanawha Lodge 20 AF&AM, Scottish Rite, Beni Kedem Shrine, Legion of Honor of the Shrine and was past exalted ruler of West Virginia BPO Elks 202. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge.

BRANCHLAND -- Opal Clay, 83, of Branchland died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in Lincoln Continuous Center after a long illness. She was a retired schoolteacher from the Logan County Board of Education and a member of McClarity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School.
