She was a Pentecostal, homemaker and an 11-year resident of Chattanooga.

Eugene H. "Gene" Lucas, 78, of St. Albans died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, in Apopka, Fla., after a short illness.
He was a 33-year resident of St. Albans and retired from Monsanto Co. with 35 years of service. He was a member of United Steel Workers of America, VFW Post 9248 and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a former employee of A&L Stores, Clarksburg, was former treasurer of Young and Stout Meat Co. with more than 20 years of service and was former manager of a cattle, sheep, and produce farm at Salt Lick Bridge. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Clarksburg, and was a member of Tichenel United Methodist Church. He was a member of Clarksburg Rotary Club, Braxton County Historical Society and was a volunteer for Future Farmers of America.

He was a longtime resident of South Charleston, W.Va., and served as president and owner of Fuel Process Corp., and as a consultant and director to numerous companies engaged in coal preparation. He was a former member of South Charleston First Baptist Church, and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, the Rotary, Masons and National Professional Engineers Society. He was a graduate of the University of Arkasnsas and an Army veteran of World War II.
