She was a native of Montgomery, Ala., a 50-year resident of West Virginia, a charter member and founder of St. Timothy's-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, Hurricane, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, was active in many charitable activities in Teays Valley and was the first president of Church Women United, Teays Valley. Surviving: husband, John Slaughter; daughters, Jane Slaughter of Detroit, Mich., Sarah Slaughter of Portland, Ore., Jo Anne Slaughter of Marietta, S.C., Mary Elizabeth Milbee of Scott Depot; son, John Slaughter of Germantown, Md.; three grandchildren.
