Memorial Hospital from injuries received after being hit by an automobile, said a hospital spokeswoman. She was an organ donor. Evelyn Faigley Holt, 83, of South Charleston, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at a West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., after a short illness. She was retired from the First Baptist Church of South Charleston as the church secretary with 22 years of service. She also was director of youth for nine years, president and director of the State Guild, president and treasurer of Kanawha Valley Association of American Baptist Women and treasurer of the local American Baptist Women. She was the First Baptist Church historian, a member of the auxiliary and an active member of Thomas Memorial Hospital Volunteers. Surviving: daughter, Judith Potter of Pensacola, Fla.; stepson, Noel Holt of South Carolina; sister, Lucy Bee DeZerne of Mannasas, Va.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
