Edna Catherine Moore, 89, of Campbells Creek died Sunday, April 26, 1998, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness.
She was a retired lab assistant from the former Kanawha Valley Memorial Hospital and a member of Springfork Missionary Baptist Church.

She was born in East Lynn, W.Va., was a graduate of Catlettsburg High School and Marshall College, Huntington, W.Va., attended Duke University, was a retired teacher at Wayne High School with nearly 40 years of service, a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Teaching Sorority and Wayne Woman's Club and was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church,W.Va.

Judson P. Young, 76, of Charleston died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at home after a short illness.
He was the retired owner of Young's Auto Parks, Sissonville Road, a lifelong resident of Charleston and an Army veteran of World War II.

William "Cutty" Jarrett
William "Cutty" Jarrett of Charleston, known for his political organizing and love of sports, has died.
Jarrett, who died Saturday at home, was 76.
"He helped a lot of candidates for many years," said his daughter, Cindy Huss of Charlotte, N.C. "He helped Jay Rockefeller when he ran for governor."
He also worked on the campaign of former Charleston Mayor Kent Hall.
"He worked in both elections, 1991 and 1995," Hall said. "He knew lots of people. He was effective in getting out the votes -- people who didn't vote much. He had a legion of friends he could talk to and get them to vote."
Jarrett, who served on Charleston City Council from 1975 to 1979, also loved sports, Hall said.
"He was a trainer for Stonewall Jackson (High School) athletic teams," Hall said. "That was the thing he was proudest of. He taped ankles and went to all the games. It was an unpaid thing."
Huss said she could recall her father's work with the teams during the 1970s.
She added that he continued to dabble in politics. A woman recently called his home asking for assistance, she said.
She said her father suffered for many years from diabetes, prostate cancer and heart problems.
He was retired from Raines Lincoln Mercury and was a lifelong resident of Charleston. He was past vice chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee.
Also surviving: wife, Anna Jarrett; daughter, Laura Jarrett of Charleston, three grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Armstrong Rubber Co., West Haven, Conn.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, White Sulphur Springs, and a retired employee of the Greenbrier County Board of Education.

He was a native of Lynchburg, Va., a graduate of West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia University School of Medicine, the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, and was a retired ophthalmologist from Charlotte Ophthalmology Clinic with 33 years of service. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the North Carolina/South Carolina Medical Society, Mecklenburg County Medical Society, Southern Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North Carolina Society of Ophthalmology. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, a missionary to Haiti, a retired Air Force colonel, a member of the Alliance of Air National Guard Flight Surgeons and the Quiet Birdmen, former governor of the North Carolina Central District of Optimists International and a member and former president of Providence Optimist Club.
