He was a lifelong resident of Pierpont, an Army veteran of World War II, a retired miner, and a member of Itmann Burial Fund. He was a member of UMW Local 9690, and employed by Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens, serving in the funeral industry for 26 years.

Katherine Louise Ingraham, 83, of St. Albans died May 17, 1997, died at the home of her daughter, Barbara Conley O'Dell of St. Albans, after a long illness.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Foster Grandparent Program. She was a former aide at Central Elementary School, St. Albans, and a former employee of KRT bus station in St. Albans.
