William G. Farmar
BELMONT -- The Rev. William G. Farmar, 87, of Care Haven of Pleasants County, Belmont, formerly of Parkersburg, died Friday, May 16, 1997, in Care Haven after a long illness.
He was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church and a retired executive minister from the West Virginia Baptist Convention. He began his work as a Baptist minister in West Virginia as director of Weirton Christian Center and pastor of First Baptist Church of Weirton and also served in Elkins and Charleston. He was executive minister and served as the chief administrative officer for the state Convention for 21-years, served as corresponding secretary for the state Baptist Education Society. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Parkersburg Masonic Lodge 3 and Nemesis Shrine of Parkersburg. He received degrees from West Liberty College, University of Pittsburgh, Colgate Rochester-Crozer Theological Seminary and completed resident's work for a Doctorate of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. Alderson-Broaddus College, where he served as a trustee for 20 years, awarded him a doctor of divinity degree.
Surviving: sister, Pat Foster of Bellair, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Lloyd Hamblin and the Rev. Kent Boone officiating. A committal service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery, Elkins.

He was a maintenance worker for U-Brand with 38 years of service, a member of First Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was a graduate of Spencer (W.Va.) High School and a member of U-Brand 20-Plus Club.

Beatrice Harris, 78, of Charleston died Saturday, May 17, 1997, in Americare of Dunbar after a long illness.

Katherine Louise Ingraham, 83, of St. Albans died Saturday, May 17, 1997, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Conley O'Dell of St. Albans, after a long illness.
She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution Council 17 and the Foster Grandparents Program. She was a former aide at Central Elementary School, St. Albans, and a former employee of KRT bus station in St. Albans.

GROVE CITY, Ohio -- Teresa J. Paul, 40, of Grove City died Friday, May 16, 1997, at the home of her parents, V. Eugene and Wanda Withers Paul of Grove City.
She was a retired first sergeant from the Army with 20 years of service, a recipient of the Coin of Excellence, Legion of Merit and many other awards from the Army Military Police. She was a member of Post Chapel, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and was active in the WAC Foundation at Fort McClellan, Ala. She received an associate degree in law enforcement from Central Texas University.

He was a superintendent of surface mining and reclamation, retired vice president of Pioneer Fuel, and was the first recipient of the American Society for Surface Mining and Reclamation Award. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a member of United Methodist Temple and American Legion Post 32.

BECKLEY -- Roy Edward "Ebby" Arndt, 70, of Beckley died Saturday, May 17, 1997, after he collapsed during a 5-kilometer run in Beckley, officials said. A cause of death was not immediately released.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Beckley College. He was a retired veteran of the Army and the Air Force and their reserves with 40 years of service, serving during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a former purchasing agent for Boeing and NASA and helped in the construction of the fuel compartments of the Gemini spacecrafts. He was a Christian.

She was a lifelong resident of Charleston, a graduate of Charleston High School and McMillan Hospital School of Nursing. She was a retired nurse from West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston.
