Lloyd Erhard Jr.
Lloyd Erhard Jr., 81, of Charleston died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a long illness. Surviving: cousin, Grace M. Daneker of Baltimore. He was a former Sissonville High School principal and Morris Harvey College professor, a part-time instructor of business administration at Morris Harvey from 1946-52 and returned to the college, now the University of Charleston, as a professor of business administration in 1974-75. He served as coordinator and supervisor of the Kanawha County schools adult education program from 1959-61, vice principal of Sissonville High from 1964-68 and principal from 1968-73. He was a 1938 graduate of West Virginia University and earned a master's degree from the University of Kentucky in 1946, where he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Pi Epsilon and Kappa Delta Pi. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, Shriner Legion of Honor, a member of John Brawley Post 20 American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church, Charleston. He was a Navy veteran. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at J.E. Johnson Funeral Home, Kanawha City, with the Rev. Reinhold Schlak officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BECKLEY -- Edith M. Fox, 86, of Beckley died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, in a Charleston hospital after a long illness. She was a housewife and a Baptist. Surviving: daughter, Phyllis A. Hardy of Beckley; sisters, Lucille Fessenbecker, Elise Murray and Nesbit Coleman, of California; brother, Arlie J. Vaughan of Marlinton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Prosperity, with the Rev. He was a truck driver, formerly employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Plant, retired from American Transportation Service and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 17, Fairmont, and was a Baptist. He was an employee of Shoney's Restaurant, Lewisburg, and a graduate of Greenbrier East High School. PALESTINE -- Delbert Melton Jr., 73, of Palestine, Wirt County, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after a short illness. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a former employee of the Kanawha County Board of Education, the state Department of Highways and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Wirt County from Kanawha County in 1970.
