Beatrice Lelia Hickock, 77, of Malden died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at home after a long illness.
She was a retired supervisor from Maidenform Corp., Princeton, and a member of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Charleston. She was born in Willowton, Mercer County.
Surviving: son, Jack Hickock of Charleston; sister, Naomi "Penny" Crabtree of Hagerstown, Md.; grandchildren, Geoffrey Hickock of Charleston, Elizabeth Hickock of Dunbar.

Beulah Louise Hill, 78, of Charleston died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, in Arthur B. Hodges Center after a long illness.
She was a welder for the former Fletcher Enamel and was an employee of Dunbar Laundromat. She was a Baptist.

SWEDESBORO, N.J. -- James Edward West Huffman, 14, of Swedesboro, formerly of St. Albans, W.Va., and Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, in Carneys Point, N.J., from injuries received in an automobile accident, said a spokesman for the Carneys Point Township Police Department.
He was a seventh-grade student at Kingsway Regional Middle School, Swedesboro, and attended Baptist Memorial Church, West Deptford, N.J.

RIPLEY -- Dorothy Isabelle Douglass Jackson, 77, of Ripley, formerly of Clendenin, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at home after a long illness.
She was office manager at Jackson Pipeline Construction Co., Clendenin. She was a graduate of Cambridge High School in Ohio, Gregg College, Chicago, Ill., and was a court reporter at Fletcher General Hospital, Cambridge, during World War II. She attended First Baptist Church, Clendenin.
Surviving: husband, Paul E. Jackson; sons, Larry E. Jackson of Ripley, Robert Douglass of Hyde Park, N.Y., John O. Jackson of Riveria Beach, Fla., Gary L. Jackson of Fort Pierce, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

PLUM BRANCH, S.C. -- Danny E. Johnson, 52, of Plum Branch, formerly of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, in Plum Branch from injuries received in an automobile accident, said a spokeswoman for the McCormick Police Department.
He was a graduate of Point Pleasant Senior High School and an employee of McCormick County in South Carolina.

Ralph Keenan
The Rev. Ralph Keenan, 77, of Pond Gap died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at home after a short illness.
He was a former heavy equipment operator and former owner of Keenan's Service Station and Used Car Dealer. He was a former air craft plant machinist for Glen L. Martin Co., Baltimore, Md., and a former employee of the Naval Ordinance Center, South Charleston. He was a pastor for more than 50 years, and started Pond Gap Advent Christian Church, where he was a member. He pastored Mammoth Advent Christian Church, Blakeley Advent Christian Church, and Ward Community Church. He was a Navy veteran.
Surviving: wife, Marceline Rider Keenan; sons, Roger and Terry, of Pond Gap; daughter, Joyce Beard of Belle; brothers, Roy of Cedar Grove, Romie of Fort Mill, S.C.; sister, Bettie Lyons of Spangler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

ELIZABETH -- Ernest J. "Ernie" Kerns, 61, of Elizabeth, Wirt County, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, after a long illness.
He was an installation specialist for Airtron Heating and Air Conditioning, Columbus, with more than 35 years of service and worked as an independent installer within the mid-Ohio Valley for many years. He was an Army veteran and a member of Porterfield Baptist Church.
Surviving: wife, Waverline Woodyard Kerns; sons, Michael and Robert of Elizabeth; daughter, Vicki Ellison of Elizabeth; brother, Delford of Wadesville; sister, Norma Bennett of Little Hocking, Ohio; five grandchildren.

She was born in Hannesville, W.Va., and moved to Hawthorne in 1977. She was a homemaker and former employee of Hawthorne Laundromat and Hawthorne Drugs. She was a member of Hawthorne Woman's Club, HARC Bertresser Circle, First United Methodist Church, Hawthorne, and United Methodist Women. She was an honorary member of American Legion Post 230 and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by husband, William D. Ryan.
