MEADOW CREEK -- Richard O'Neal "Cowboy" Plumley, 42, of Meadow Creek, Summers County, was found Sunday, May 25, 1997, in the New River, officials said. He had been missing since May 19 after a fishing boat he was in capsized. He appeared to have drowned, the spokesman said. He was a roofer and a longtime resident of Meadow Creek. Surviving: wife, Agnes Brady Plumley; son, Bryan Plumley of Meadow Creek; stepson, James Brady of Lothian, Md.; stepdaughter, Brenda Brady of Lothian; stepfather, Paul Richmond of Daniels; sisters, Susie Ward and Ruby Gill of Hinton, Melissa Richmond of Athens. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton, with Pastor Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Plumley Mountain Cemetery near Abraham. Oscar I. Robinson, 81, of Charleston died Monday, May 26, 1997, in Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center after a long illness. He retired from Chrysler Corp. Stamping Plant, Detroit, Mich. He was an Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and was a life member of VFW Post 8129. Surviving: several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, with the VFW Chaplain officiating and military graveside rites conducted by VFW 8129. GLEN WHITE -- Charles Albert Barnett, 79, of Glen White died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, in Beckley. He was a retired miner and a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving: sons, Daniel Boone, Frank F. and Charles A. Barnett Jr. of Glen White, Henry Noah Barnett of Beckley, David Earl Barnett of Oklahoma City; daughters, Dovie Short of Mabscott, Susie Jane and Hildred Lee Barnett of Glen White; six grandchildren. He retired from the Army with 31 years of service, having served during World War II and the Korean War.
