ALBERT F. STURMS
Albert Faye Sturms, 47, of Montcalm, died
yesterday morning at Bluefield Sanitarium after a short illness.
He was born in Mill Creek, Aug. 25, 1907,
the son of the late Cora Mae Tolbert and Albert Hansford Sturms.
He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Blevins:
one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte *Wasser* of Bluefield, and one son, Leon Sturms
of Montcalm. Also surviving are three brothers, Francis Sturms of
Columbus, Ohio: Carl of Baltimore, Md., and Hershall of Huntington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
tomorrow at the Montcalm Christian Church by the Rev. Mr. Melvin of Bluefield.
Pallbearers will be: Tom Hogan, Robert
Hart, Donald Helmandollar, Jack Coburn, Henry Sargent and Miles Stafford.
Flower bearers will be ladies of the Adult Bible Class.
The body will be removed from Cravens Funeral
Home at 2 p. m. today to the residence.

Mrs. Cora Mae Sturms -
- died April 21st in her home at 4:30 a.m.
She was born April 18, 1872. Duration of illness, about 2 years.
She was the daughter of the late Emory Talbott and Clara Stonaker Talbott.
She is survived by her husband, Albert H. Sturms and sons, Carl Sturms,
Baltimore; Albert F. of *Mountcalm,* W. Va., Francis M. of Columbus, Ohio;
Hersel of Huntington; one daughter deceased. She was the last of
eleven children. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Flemington.
A resident for 31 years. Funeral services will be held Sunday at
the Methodist Church in Flemington at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. J. H. Carson
officiating. Interment in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery, Flemington.
The body will remain at Graham Funeral Home at Flemington and will be removed
to the Methodist Church at 1:00 p. m. to lie in state until the funeral
hour. Graham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Albert H. Sturms
FLEMINGTON-(S)-Albert H. Sturms, 76, died
at his home in Flemington at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was born Aug.
3, 1878, a son of the late Isaac and Miranda Johnson Sturms. His
wife, Cora Mae Sturms, died in 1954.
He is survived by his children, Hershel T.
Sturms of Huntington; Carl of Baltimore, Md.; Francic M. of Columbus, O.;
and Albert Faye Sturms of Montcalm; two brothers, Stafford of Grafton;
and Tracy of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Jasper Kalar, Parkersburg,
and Mrs. Chester Phillips of Parsons.
He was a member of the IOOF Lodge of Flemington,
a member of Local Union 887, and a member of the Methodist Church of Flemington.
He had lived in the Flemington community for about 30 years.

Charlotte May Sturms*
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Charlotte Wassum Pope,
62, of Greensboro, formerly of Princeton, died Saturday, May 11, 1996,
at a Greensboro hospital.
Born in McComas, she was a daughter of the
late Albert Faye and Lillie Alice Blevins Sturms. She was a retired
licensed practical nurse. She had been a resident of Greensboro since
1977 moving there from Princeton.
Survivors include her husband, W. Allan Pope,
III, of Greensboro; three daughters, Susan Montgomery and her husband Scott
of Milford, Pa., Beth Grurud and her husband Jim of Hinton, and Mary Quick
and her husband Dean of Princeton; one step-son, Edward A. Pope and his
wife Kim of Greensboro; one step-daughter, Vicki J. Pope of High Point,
N. C.; one brother, Leon Sturms and his wife Faye of Montcalm; and ten
grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00
a. m. Tuesday at......

MR. HERSCHEL TALBOTT STURMS, SR.,
68, of 312 Davis St., died June 12, 1978, at Sugarwood Country Club of
an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00
a. m. Friday at Beard Mortuary by the Rev. Douglass M. Shepard. Entombment
will be in Woodmere Abbey of Peace. He was born Feb. 20, 1910, in
Mill Creek, W. Va., a son of the late Albert H. and Cora Talbott Sturms.
He was a retired letter carrier for the U. S. Post Office, a member of
N. A. L. C. branch 359 and a memeber of Sugrarwood Country Club.
He was preceeded in death a grandson, Steven M. Sturms, 16, who died in
September of 1977, and by a brother and a sister. Survivors include
his wife, Mrs. Virginia Marteny Sturms; a daughter, Mrs. Donald L. (Barbetta)
Neal of Hunington; a son, Herschel T. Sturms Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; two
brothers, Carl Sturms of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Francis M. Sturms of
Columbus, there grandchildren, Alan B. Sturms, 19, Susan Sturms, 14, and
Todd A. Neal, 13 and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will
be Jim Polling, James L. Anderson, James Cummings, Bob Vipperman, Angus
Ross and Denver Walden. Honorary pallbearers are Estil Arrowood,
Donald Roberts, Lloyd Frankel, John Chittum, Miller Grove, Donald Beuhring,
Howard Meadows and all other members of N. A. L. C. branch 359. Friends
may call from 6 to 9 p. m. at the mortuary.

James Jeffery Johnson, 75, of North Tazewell,
Va., died Saturday in a Bluefield hospital.
Born in Russel County, Va., he was a retired
coal miner of the Pocahontas Fuel Co., Amonate.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Olla Blevins Johnson;
son, Ron R. Johnson of North Tazewell; daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Smith
of Bluefield, Va., Mrs. Shirley Perry of Bluefield; brothers, William Johnson
of Poland, Ind., sisters, Mrs Mable Lewis of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs Mary

Maude S. Jones
Maude Shrewsbury Jones, 82, of 2232 Avenue
A N. W., Winter Haven, Fla., died Wednesday at her home.
Born in Mercer County, she was a daughter
of the late Robert W. and Belle Shrewsbury. She had lived in Duhring
all her life, moving to Winter Haven in 1963. She was a member of
the Winter Haven Christian Church, and was preceeded in death by her husband,
Smith Jones, one daughter, Pauline Owens, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors: sisters, Mrs. Claude
(Frances) Garret of Princeton, Mrs. Paul (Alma) Mahaffey and Miss Grace
Shrewsbury of Holly Hill, Fla.; brother, John Moore of Dublin, Va.; halfsister,
Mrs. Dixie Dyer of Lynchburg, Va.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Saturday at Ott-Laughlin

SMITH JONES
Smith A. Jones, 92, of Winter Haven, Fla.,
formerly of Duhring, died Saturday in a Winter Haven hospital.
A retired miner, he was a resident of Winter
Haven for 20 years, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Winter Haven Christian
Church. He was preceeded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Owens.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Maude Shrewsbury
Jones; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m.
from the O.H. Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, with the funeral to
follow in Winter Haven.
