Mae E. Burkholder, 86, of Markleysburg, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Bruceton Mills, daughter of the late Russell and Pearl Buzard Metheny.
She was a member of the Salem Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by three sons, William Murphy, of Morgantown, Robert Murphy, of Bruceton Mills, and Mark Murphy, of Bruceton Mills; three daughters, June Murphy, of Uniontown, Pa., Sarah Liston, of Kingwood, and Barbara Willis, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Sherie Hockenberry, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Robin Fike, of Markleysburg; two brothers, Don Metheny, of Bruceton Mills, and James Metheny, of Beaver Falls, Pa.; a sister, Lucy Liston, of Valley Point; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandc hildren.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Murphy, in 1959; her second husband, Robert T. Burkholder, in 1972; a sister, Violet Beatty; and three brothers, Jerome Metheny, Louis Metheny and Paul Metheny.

Jean R. Moran
Jean R. Moran, 64, of West Salem, Ohio, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at home.
She was born May 16, 1936, in Arthurdale, daughter of the late Dayton and Hazel (Hall) Riley.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Moran; a son, Robert Moran Jr., of Lakewood, Ohio; a daughter and spouse, Pamela and Charles Parker, of West Salem; two grandchildren; and a brother and spouse, Ronald and Karen Riley, of Cleveland.
She was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Sherrell F. Cale
Sherrell F. Cale, 66, of Masontown, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at home.
He was born July 11, 1934, in Masontown, son of George E. Cale and the late Mary Lou McMillen Cale Utt.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper in Company E 1st Airborne Group, 501st Infantry. He owned and operated Quality Fasteners in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indiana. He retired from Super America in 1998.
He is also survived by a daughter and spouse, Tammi and Trace Benedict, of Greenfield, Ind.; a brother and spouse, George Jr. and Pauline Cale, of Tyrone Road; a sister, Olive Mae Tiberio, of Masontown; and two grandsons, Josh and Garrett Benedict, of Greenfield.

Willard Vernon Utt
Willard Vernon Utt, 86, of Morgantown, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Morgan Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Morgantown, son of the late Roy D. and Pearl Ringer Utt.
He was a retired steam-fitter welder, and was a member of Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union Local 152.
He is survived by three sons, David W. Utt, of Norfolk, Va., Richard W. Utt, of Boston, and Stephen R. Utt, of Charleston; and a grandchild, Catherine, of Boston.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Wilson Utt; his second wife, E. Carolyn Anderson White Utt; and a brother, Warren Bud Utt.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Lawnwood Cemetery. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Paul S. Linsley
Former Greer finance chief dies at age 86
Paul S. Linsley, who served the interests of the Greer family and their companies for 33 years as vice president-finance, secretary and treasurer, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, in Pittsburgh. He was 86.
Linsley served Greer from 1957 to 1989 when he retired. A Paul S. Linsley Building on the grounds of the Greer Mansion was dedicated and houses the accounting personnel, who formerly worked in the Greer Building, in Sabraton.
A bronze plaque in his honor graces the wall in the new building, for a "man who faithfully served the interests of the Greer Family for 33 years. Mr. Linsley's integrity, insight, sensitivity, loyalty, financial acumen and wisdom were instrumental in the growth of Greer's profitability."
Linsley was formerly of Uniontown, Pa. He was born March 1, 1914, in Wilson, Pa., son of the late Samuel and Emma J. Green Linsley.
He was also a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Johnson Linsley; a daughter, Patricia Linsley, of Pittsburgh; a son and spouse, Paul S. and Carolyn Linsley, of Pittsburgh; and a grandson, Matt Linsley.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Thorpe, and two brothers, Bill and Clifford Linsley.

Stanley Russell Hilling
Stanley Russell Hilling, 83, of Mountain View Road, Morgantown, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1917, in Morgantown, son of the late Andrew and Anna McDonald Hilling.
He was a member of the Mountain View Free Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as an engineer. He retired from National Coal Co. in 1975, after 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine Hart Hilling; a daughter and spouse, Barb and Okey Dalton; two sons, Gary Hilling, and David Hilling and companion Betty Shaw; a sister, Shirley Canter; three grandsons and spouses, Darrin and Sherri Dalton, David "Pee Wee" and Sadie Hilling and Bryan and Loretta Hilling; four granddaughters and spouses, Tracy and Jeff Cole, Stacy Hilling and fiance Tony Adkins, Crystal and Steve Dalton, Lea Ann Dalton and fiance Rodney Taylor; seven great-grandchildren, Deanna Dalton, Jeffrey Cole, Josh and Devin Hilling, Natalie and Madison Adkins, Corbin and Cortlee Hilling and Mariesa Dalton.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sherry Hilling; six brothers, Roy, Paul, Ken, Andrew, Paige and Vernon Hilling; and four sisters, Mary Bacorn, Violet Murray, Gladys Nicholson and Hazel Hilling.

Dortha Mae Heck
Dortha Mae Heck, 82, of Grafton, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Rosewood Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Grafton, daughter of the late Garfield and Dessie May Williams Heck.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of Grafton.
She is survived by a niece, Aleta Moseley, of Mercer, Pa.; a nephew, Robert Delmer Heck, of Elizabethtown, N.C.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Delmer Heck.
Bartlett Funeral Home in Grafton is in charge of arrangements. A private graveside service was held at Bluemont Cemetery with the Rev. Bert Coffman officiating.
James E. Tasker
James E. Tasker, 72, of Mars, Pa., formerly of Tionesta, Pa., Cleveland and Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.
He was born April 10, 1928, in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., son of the late Joseph Edward and Violet Pearl Nicholson Tasker.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II and worked as a machinist at Union Carbide in Cleveland. He was a member of VFW Post 3491 in Carmichaels and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.
He is survived by a son and spouse, Stephen J. and Areda Tasker, of Amherst, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Tasker; three sisters, Wilma B. Williams, of Richardson, Texas, Susan Lavins, of Erie, Pa., and Faye Geringer, of Garfield Heights, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a long-time companion, Ruth Janke, with whom he lived for the past year.

Joseph William McBee
Joseph William McBee, 73, of Arthurdale, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Morgantown, son of the late Morley G. and Laura Kelly McBee.
He was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church. He spent 10 years working for Eureka Pipe Line Co. in Morgantown. He most recently worked at Sterling Faucet Co. where he worked for 29 years before a medical retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Pitts McBee; two sons, Joseph M. McBee, of Morgantown, and C. Keith McBee, of Arthurdale; a daughter, Ada Kay McBee, of Arthurdale; a brother and spouse, M. James and Barbara McBee, of Morgantown; a sister, Bonnie McBee Kelly, of Morgantown; three brothers-in-law, C.J. Pitts, of West Milford, J. Howard Pitts, of Painesville, Ohio, and Lessel V. Pitts, of Arthurdale.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Clarence Joseph McBee; and two brothers, Howard G. and Kenneth F. McBee.

Orval R. Taylor
Word has been received of the death of Orval "Potbelly" R. Taylor, 84, of Niles, Ohio, who died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Tunnelton, son of the late Elza and Anna Shaffer Taylor.
He worked at U.S. Steel Co., where he was an inspector for 26 years before retiring in 1976. He rebuilt lawnchairs for 35 years and was commonly referred to as "The Lawnchair Man." He was a member of the Holiness Gospel Mission in Niles. He enjoyed playing cards, going to auctions and watching baseball and football.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald L. Taylor, of Canfield, Ohio, and Dale R. Taylor, of Athol, Mass.; a daughter and spouse, Christina and Terry Evans, of Jefferson, Ohio; a brother, Harold Taylor, of Florida; two sisters, Ethel Fulmer, of Kingwood, and Rosalee Mann, of Warren, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Stevenson Taylor; two brothers, James and Tom Taylor; two sisters, Willa Jean Slesher and Helen Warren; and a grandchild.
Service was held at Reese-Wynn-Winyard-McDermott-Laird Funeral Home. Burial was in Niles City Cemetery.
Gloria Jean Jannuzzi
Gloria Jean Jannuzzi, 43, of Metz, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1957, in Morgantown, daughter of Deloris Jean Burkett Pirlo and Vaughn D. Pirlo Sr., of Morgantown, and the late Robert A. Ritchey.
She graduated from Morgantown High School and attended Fairmont State College where she studied architectural drafting. She was employed as a drafting supervisor at the WVU architect's office. She was also employed by Rockwell International in Detroit. Upon returning to West Virginia, she formed her own freelance drafting service company and was involved in many projects designing homes and churches in the Fairmont area. The highlight of her career was being named project engineer for the Harrison Power Station in Shinnston while employed by Universal Fabricators Inc. She was a member of the Crescent Hills Chapel.
She is also survived by three daughters, Heather Marie Sandy, of Mannington, Sunshine Melissa Jannuzzi, of Metz, and Jeanette Rachael Jones, of Bridgeport; a granddaughter, Destiny Shane Sandy; four brothers, Robert B. Ritchey, of Carmichaels, Pa., Vaughn D. Pirlo Jr., of Mesa, Ariz., Russell F. Pirlo, of Morgantown, Timothy A. Pirlo, of Melbourne, Fla.; three sisters, Rella Sue Demmons, of Dayton, Ohio, Sally Ann Penland, of Morgantown, Rena Mae Perozich, of Fairmont; and several aunts, uncles and cous ins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rocky Pirlo.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Dering's Funeral Home. Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, with the Revs. William Hurlbutt and Herman Luhm officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Brenda Evans Malott
Brenda Charlene Evans Malott, 42, of Brave, Pa., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
She was born Aug. 24, 1958, in Wana, daughter of Wilbur Bud and June Cumberledge Evans of Star Route, Wana.
She was a 1976 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and was employed at Flushing Shirt Manufacturing Co.
She is also survived by her husband, Roger Malott; a son, Chris Rose, of Beckley; a stepson, Jay Malott, of Blacksville; two brothers and spouses, Ron and Jeannie Evans, of Beckley, and Jim and Beth Evans, of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister and spouse, Rhonda and John Umstead, of Wana; two nephews, Justin Umstead and Ethan Umstead; two nieces, Meliah Umstead, and Brandy Evans.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert and Mabel Evans; and her maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Fern Cumberledge.
